This is intended as a follow-up/extension of Scott’s previously posted (and very excellent) piece on the very same topic.

I’ve mentioned on a couple of occasions what a joke I think it is that notorious left-wing pseudo-blog “Taking Down Words” is so highly “regarded” around the Indiana Blogosphere.

Regardless of what many think, it’s not the content I dis-agree with. I link to “Monticello“, a well-written blog edited by my close friend Joh Padgett, who is far-left enough to believe DailyKos is a credible website and who supports Chris Dodd for President. I subscribe to “Masson’s Blog“, which rarely posts any content I could agree with (he supports John Edwards for President, that should tell you all you need to know) but is well-written and worth a look.

I use the term “pseudo-blog” in reference to “TDW” for the very fact that I strongly feel Jen Wagner, it’s editor, blurs the line since she is the Communications Director for the Indiana Defeatocrat Party by day. While she has long been reviled by many bloggers for that connection, many in the media (including respected journalist Ruth Holladay) seem to think she’s some sort of sage for doing nothing more than posting Dan Parker’s press releases.

Well, now it appears the cat is coming out of the bag, so to speak, and even sympathetic left-wing journalists can’t cover for her on this one.

In the latest issue, former Clark County GOP Chairman Glenn Murphy Jr has been accused of some pretty heinous crimes, and suffice it to say we won’t post the details here. But the interesting part of this is Wagner’s connection to the release of “confidential” police reports:

Murphy announced yesterday that he had stepped down from the party post as well as chairman of the Young Republican National Federation, the same day a report by the sheriff’s office on the investigation was posted on a blog listed on the Indiana Democratic Party Web site.

Said site is, of course, “TDW”.

It get’s better, as Wagner’s pathetic backpedaling follows:

Wilder also said such reports are supposed to be kept confidential by police until a decision has been made by prosecutors about whether to file charges. He said he was disappointed that something of such a sensitive nature had been leaked in “a vindictive political process.”

Jennifer Wagner, communications director for the Indiana Democratic Party, said that she operates the blog during her free time and that its content is independent of the party.

Wagner declined to say how she obtained the report but said that as a well-known Democratic blogger, “I get all kinds of documents.”

Wagner said she did not post it for political purposes.

So, she has a day job as Dan Parker’s mouthpiece, that much we know. That she posts to her pseudo-blog during normal working hours is supposed to lead us to believe that there is no formal connection between the IDP and “TDW”? That her job is to spread the lies…, er message of the Defeatocrat party while simply posting her personal thoughts and ideas on her own pseudo-blog?

Look, I’m all for anyone of any age or persuasion having a blog. That’s part of free speech and free expression. I think DailyKos is a disgrace to American society, but I have no desire to shut it down or squelch it’s “message” (if you can call vile hate a message).

But I think blogging under false pretenses, which is exactly what Wagner and Parker are doing with “TDW’ is dirty and underhanded, which come to think of it are two terms associated with the modern Defeatocrat Party.

It’s time for the rest of the Indiana Blogosphere call for Wagner to admit the official connection between “TDW” and the Indiana Defeatocrat Party. After all, being the Defeatocrat Party’s official newspaper of choice hasn’t exactly hurt the standing of “The New York Times”.

UPDATES: Here’s the list of links, sent to me by a friend, from pseudo-blog “TDW” (and other sites) detailing her involvement in this issue:

Under Investigation: Glenn Murphy Story Jumps From Blogs To The MSM
The Glenn Murphy criminal investigation has made its way from the Internets to the mainstream press. A few stories from both realms:

Murphy accused of deviate conduct
UPDATE: Murphy resigns political posts; cooperating with police in apparent criminal investigation
GOP’s Sleep-A-Gay Sex Scandal
GOP Sex Scandal: Young Republican Prez (MSM Update)

Doug Masson whines about “TDW” not receiving credit in posting the confidential police report, then ignores the above-quoted story pointing out the obvious links between the IDP and “TDW”. Of course, being a leftist himself, Masson likely has no complaints whatsoever with Wagner’s role in posting Parker’s releases on her pseudo-blog. People like him likely still read The New York Times “for all the news that’s fit to print”.

  1. TDW does a very nice job of exposing the total lack of morals in the Democratic Party.
