Via CBS News:

“We want to take money and put it back in the pocket of middle-class people,” Biden said in an interview on ABC’s “Good Morning America.”

Noting that wealthier Americans would indeed pay more, Biden said: “It’s time to be patriotic … time to jump in, time to be part of the deal, time to help get America out of the rut.”

Be patriotic – give more money to us!

Is Joe Biden TRYING to lose the election?

More importantly, does Baron Hill agree that raising taxes is patriotic?

  1. “We want to take money and put it back in the pocket of middle-class people”

Wealth redistribution and social engineering. Same stuff “Kingfish” Huey P. Long did in Louisiana back in the 1930’s. He, like Barack Hussein Obama, also achieved political power through nefarious means.

  2. It’s certainly unpatriotic to run a deficit.

The burden on us is the exactly the same whether we enact explicit taxes, or we run a deficit and use the implicit tax of inflation. The gummint withdraws resources from the economy in either case.

The big difference is that with an explicit tax, we let Sony, Toyota, BP and other foreign companies pay their fair share. They profit from our economy; should we provide them that gravy train at our expense?

Since Dubya became president, the dollar has lost 37% of its value. That’s a pretty hefty tax. And that’s before the bailout of all these financial institutions.

Are you willing to tell the American people they cannot purchase the products these companies sell if the US Government were to tax these companies to your satisfaction and the companies were to withdraw from the US and not do business here? Talk about wrecking an economy that’ll do it.

  4. Michael, when a foreign manufacturer exports products to the US, the VAT is rebated to the manufacturer by the foreign government. We don’t rebate tax when a US manufacturer exports products.

Foreign countries charge a heavy VAT on our exports, and we don’t charge one on theirs.

In foreign countries, our products are not competitive, because they are taxed twice, and the foreign products are taxed once. Here in the US, our products are not competitive, because our products get taxed once, and theirs don’t get taxed at all.

Why do you think all the jobs are being exported? Corporations will either pay taxes by having to pay higher wages to over-taxed workers, or they can pay taxes directly. The first option results in jobs moving overseas, and the second option doesn’t.

  5. According to Barack Obama, the only way we can get out of this mess is for this country to adapt socialistic values and enforce socialism by gaining control of all three branches of government. I’m sure that the mountain of money his campaign has collected from domestic and foreign donors, names the Obama campaign won’t disclose, will be used for that purpose. As soon as total control is gained, organizations like ACORN will have a green light to further abuse the law to suppress free speech, control the outcomes of elections and brain wash children in schools to believe that socialism is the answer to all of our problems. With total control of the government, and help from people like Bill Ayers, Rev. Wright and Antoin Rezko, who will probably be pardoned, achieving the ultimate goal, “a life of sexual confusion and moral collapse” will become a strong possibility.
