Note in her hometown San Francisco Chronicle, Speaker Nancy Pelosi is quoted while speaking to an anti-war protest group:

“It’s always exciting…This is democracy in action. I’m energized by it, frankly.”

On Netroots Nation, she is quoted as saying

“But please know how much I appreciate what you do. And what you do you make our democracy stronger, you make America more American, because of the vital participation in the process.”

BUT….

If its a viewpoint on health care, she has a much different tune, as quoted in the Gannett owned USA Today

“However, it is now evident that an ugly campaign is underway not merely to misrepresent the health insurance reform legislation, but to disrupt public meetings and prevent members of Congress… Drowning out opposing views is simply un-American.”

(emphasis added)

So which is it Madame Speaker, “democracy in action” or “un-american”?
