From Don BatesFacebook Page:

“We did it!!! Team Bates has officially certified the minimum 500 signatures in each Congressional District!! As of last count, we have validated 5,748 signatures across the great State of Indiana. Now, let’s go win that Primary!!!”

No word on Marlin Stutzman, Richard Behney, or Dan Coats’ efforts to get on the ballot.

  1. Stutzman has a presser scheduled for tomorrow I believe and he should have his signatures turned in this week.

  2. I don’t mean to be a jerk, but let’s do a reality check here: They’ve been claiming this for a while, but have yet to officially file (last I heard).

Jerry Alexander (from Bates campaign) was fishing around for 7th District signatures at the GOVERNMENT CENTER SOUTH yesterday (Call the Office of Faith-Based & Community Initiatives, the administrative assistant and receptionist will tell you).

Let’s give the Bates campaign lots of credit and page space when they officially file the signatures. Then you know it’s for real.

  3. I don’t think that any of the campaigns have any reason to lie about their signature certifications, but I’ll believe that Bates is done when he files (same with the rest).

  4. Jerry told me last Wednesday night that they were going to announce in the morning. He said they were done in the 7th. Since he was recently fishing, they must not have been done. From that who knows if they are done or not.

  5. I agree with Scott…I don’t think they would lie about that. And if he was gathering signatures yesterday and announced it today…then I don’t see the big deal. And I think we will give space to those who make these kind of statements when they come out.

  6. Sounds like Hoosier Access may be a busy news hub tomorrow! Maybe we’ll need an open thread… :)
