Bipartisan Begging: Jill Long-Thompson Asks Republicans for Donations

Jill Long Thompson & Tipper GoreI just love that photo of JLT with Tipper Gore.

*ahem*

Anyway…

She may be leading in recent polls, but Jill Long-Thompson’s fundraising belies a sort of desparation you’d expect from, say, Richard Young.

She has only three supplemental ($10,000+ donation) filings, compared to around five times as many for her main primary opponent, state party establishment man Jim Schellinger.

In fact, Long-Thompson appears so eager to get money that she is asking Republican political consultants to give her donations.

Chris Faulkner, of Faulkner Strategies, recently got this letter from her and was kind enough to pass it on:

Yessir.

Begging Republicans for money–Republican consultants no less–is just the thing you should be doing if you want to win a Democratic primary for governor.

At this rate, the Democrats will be running Richard Young against Mitch Daniels on the ballot next November.

One Response to “Bipartisan Begging: Jill Long-Thompson Asks Republicans for Donations”

  1. Jill’s campaign PO Box is listed in that letter as being in Argos, Indiana. Argos is in Marshall county (JLT’s current county of residence), and Marshall Co. is just south of St. Joseph Co. Faulkner is a former St. Joe Co. GOP Chairman and is a big-name up here in the 2nd Congressional District. The fact that he got a letter is just laughable.

I liked that first underlined statement in the first page of the letter, the one about voting against tax increases but protecting Medicare and other entitlements. Here is that line reworded “I voted to create a larger federal deficit to burden our children with.”

Still want her to be the next Gov?
