People (and not just in Chicago) never seem to care about corruption in government, so long as the government is competent.

It's when the corruption and incompetence come together that seems to irritate them.

Yeah, really. There was a short period between Daddy and Junior there were quasi-competitive races. Of course it was always Dem and Dember.

Ask (former Chicago mayor) Jane Byrne about the political capital of not clearing the streets after a snowstorm. It cost her the mayor's office.

I'm not assuming he'll fail, I'm just saying he's starting off with a real first test. I think he'll be fine, I just know the scrutiny (read: Indy Star, lefty nutroots) will be there ready and probably hoping for him to fail just to have a story.

BTW, NWS says it'll be 3-5" in North Central Indiana - to me that's North of Kokomo. So here we'll only get a dusting.

I'm not worried I have four wheel drive! :-)

Ahh, that's just the Ryerson Rag doing a setup so they can blast Greg tomorrow asking why the streets aren't completely dry within 10 minutes of his inauguration.

I just wonder if Mr. Menon (Mayor Peterson's DPW head) will stick around or if he'll abandon ship with the Mayor.
