Curiously, the pronunciation of “nuclear” is ambiguous. Both the version that Obama uses (as most of us use as well) is certainly the “preferred” pronunciation. But pronunciation that Pres. Bush 43 uses (sounding like nucular) is also “acceptable” according to both Websters and American Heritage dictionaries.
The most interesting pronouncer “nucular” was President Carter who was a “nucular” engineer in the Navy.
