It’s seems as if those wacky people who follow the Doctrines of Ron Paul are encouraging a sneaky, but perfectly legit, way to win Indiana’s delegates for Ron Paul.

Christopher Hedges (Formerly of Region Life) Reports:

Ron Paul Supporters Planning Indiana Coup?

Is there a Ron Paul coup afoot in Indiana?

Ron Paul’s supporters detail a way to gain control of the Republican convention after the May primary by having their supporters apply to become GOP delegates, then voting to select Ron Paul at their presidential nominee at the state convention.

From the Northwest Indiana Ron Paul Meet Up site:

Patriots, handing Indiana off to Ron in May is soooo SIMPLE…

The Republican Party ALWAYS runs short of delegates for the state convention. All we have to do is show up and apply. We have to be elected of course, but if the congressional district has more seats than applicants, we win by default. Each congressional district is ‘winner takes all’. So we just need to have more delegates for Ron.

Even it’s just a single delegate more, he takes all of the delegates for that congressional district. THIS IS WITHIN OUR REACH!!!!

Uhhhhhhh…….

I have a feeling that it’s not going to be that easy this year for the Paulistinians (That’s right, since only Brian is swearing allegiance to a particular candidate, I feel most of us can be equal opportunity shafters to all Presidential candidates) to run away with Indiana’s delegates at the convention. Good luck with all that though!

  2. I was traveling around Evansville yesterday and today and heard a couple of Ron Paul ads on the Evansville talk radio station.

Anyone have any ideas why he would be spending money in that market?

  3. Joel,

Because Evansville media reaches -THREE- states? The then next media markets close to size are St.Louis, Nashville, Memphis and Louisville. Because Evansville has so much drive traffic from I-64, HWY-41 and near by HWY 231? A lot of stuff happens in that sleepy little town that Indianapolis can not figure how to get to…

  4. Yes, but Indiana’s primary is in May. Kentucky’s is after ours. Illinois is Super Tuesday–but it seems like you would be paying a lot (relatively speaking) to advertise in all three states to reach a very sparse Illinois population.

  5. Ya buy the media where ya got the money. Figure what the media would cost in any of the large IL markets CHI.

This makes alot more sence than Ron Paul supporters trying to take over the convention! Besides What would the get if they did? It would be the best floor fight since David Lohr…

  6. Ron Paul has that supporter in Evansville that was making that funny money with RP’s depiction upon it.

  7. OK. More evidence that Ron Paul is nuts. He is advertising on WIBC (Indianapolis). No one can claim that he is getting into an election market. Now he could be doing national advertising on the Rush program–which would be interesting, too. Rush has been calling him a nut job too.
