This property tax relief is a scam. Under it’s current form, 90% of Indiana residents will end up paying more in taxes.

Let me guess, you also believe that we “sold” the toll road to a bunch of foreigners and terrorists and that we’re losing money on that deal.
How about doing some homework and realizing that total elimination, while good in theory, would bankrupt the state and that keeping the system the way it is, or slightly altering it, will only further hurt Hoosier homeowners.

No, I believe the toll road lease was a good thing for Indiana. Under the current form, HB1001 will actually raise taxes on households with a home less than 150k and incomes less than 80k. That is is about 90% of Hoosiers. An overall tax increase on most hoosier families is not a good thing.

Typical. Rely on an editorial from a paper that’s readily relied on my liberal blogs around the state.

Josh,
You can call it whatever you want, you still don’t tell me how they are wrong. I consider myself as conservative as they come, but how does HB 1001 help anyone not making 80k/year and a home less than 150k? I am willing to listen and if you can convince me I am wrong, i will gladly change my position. Tell me how HB1001 does not raise taxes on 90% of hoosier households.
