We Salute Jeff Drozda: Set to Announce Senate Depature Today
The Indy Star is reporting that it is official: Senator Jeff Drozda will announce before the Indiana State Senate today that he is moving from Indiana to South Carolina and therefore resigning his position as State Senator from the 21st District. In a state and time where few legislators possess a backbone and stick to their principles and grounded belief, we need to say “thank you” to those do. We salute you Senator Drozda for carrying the conservative banner well since 2002 in the Indiana General Assembly. You will be missed and difficult to replace. Thank you for your service to Indiana and to the conservative cause.

State Representative Jim Buck, District 38, is the leading candidate to replace Senator Drozda. Jim has served for sixteen years in the Indiana House and has been a stalwart for conservative economic and family issues in the Legislature. Jim has been a great supporter of economic development and business in Indiana, with close to a 96% voting record with the Indiana Chamber of Commerce. Representative Buck currently represents Howard, Clinton, Hamilton and Boone Counties. Before reapportionment, Representative Buck served Tipton County. Jim knows his Senate District and its people well. He has represented them well. We should all be pleased to have this great conservative moving to the Indiana Senate.
On a personal note, I have known Jim for over twenty years, since we worked together on Jim Butcher’s Congressional Campaign. I know Jim to be a honest, sincere and diligent public servant who has definitely put the interests of his constituents above his own. I have known many legislators over the years and I am proud to say that Jim is one of the very best and I am proud to be his Republican County Chairman.
