Pinned Down Like a DC Insider

This post has nothing to do with Indiana except that I have family involved. The most spectacular thing happened this morning that my wife and I just found out about.

My in-laws live in the Northern Virginia area just a few minutes from the beltway that surrounds Washington D.C. An ant crawling on the Beltway will cause traffic to halt to a complete standstill. For those of you how doubt me, just ask someone who has lived in or around the District. So imagine what the below picture caused.

My father-in-law is the man talking to the police officer. By the way, he escaped unharmed. Praise God!

  1. Praise the Lord indeed that your father in law survived that.

    Thanks for sharing.

  2. *grins*

So what did the semi driver do to your father-in-law? I’d say they’re even now. LOL

    Glad he’s okay, Josh.

  3. Thanks guys, I am too. After having my own run in with a semi a few years ago and walking away unscathed, it can be a pretty eye opening and knee bending experience.

But, I’m sure that trucker had it comin’ whatever it was! :)

  4. Glad your FIL is OK. What kind of car was that anyway? Looks like a Volvo from the taillights.

Unfortunately up in The Region, every couple of year or so a trucker loses a load of steel coming out of the Gary mills and usually someone gets seriously hurt. Several years ago a coil unraveled on I-94 outside Chicago and the driver of the car behind the truck was killed.

  5. Good eye Mike. It was a Volvo.
