Remember when Greg Ballard got all that flack from the lefty blogosphere for running ads on YouTube even though he wasn’t the one behind them?  Many called them cheesy or unprofessional.  None of those even come close to this:

If more people saw this, Jill Long Thompson would have no trouble in the primary.  How embarrassing!

  1. That’s not just embarassing. That’s sad.

“I don’t actually know anything about him, but I’ll yell that he rocks, because the union told me to!”

Looks like a bunch of old hippies reliving their misspent political youth to me.

  2. I think someone referred to the You Tube for Greg Ballard as “produced in someone’s basement”.

Must admit, maybe the bottom feeders of Jimmy Paycheck’s campaign think if these You Tubes worked for getting Greg Ballard elected maybe it will work in favor of Jimmy Paycheck.

  3. Well, they’re certainly welcome to their delusions. Personally I thought 8 years of Bart Peterson and Dem control of the Council pretty much spoke for themselves without any need to resort to basement video.

All things considered, except for that obvious brain fart on DST, I can’t really find anything Mitch has done to complain about. Apparently these bozos can’t, either, or they’d do more in 2:21 than just “rock on Jim Schellinger”.

  4. Eh, I think watching that thing lowered my own IQ. It was “Jim Schellinger rocks”, wasn’t it? (Won’t watch it again, already lost too many brain cells the first time.)

  5. Okay, okay, we get the point “Schellinger Rocks” and no, I’m not interested in seeing over 2 minutes worth of video with people saying that.

What exactly was the message there? Yeah, I know they said that “Schellinger Rocks” but what was beyond that? This production is comprised of negative energy. You walk away with less of a desire (if that is possible on my part) to vote for the guy.

I wonder if we should start a PAC just to buy enough air time to run that thing once in the Indianapolis media market. If we tried to do that the stations would probably refuse to sell time to us on the grounds that too many viewers would shut the TV off after about 10 seconds and then completly switch channels 60 seconds later when they find out that the ad is still running.

  6. i completely lost all respect (not that i had any to begin with) when i saw the guy with the chicago bears fleece on…

  7. Did you lose respect for yourself, for the Bears or the guy wearing the fleece? My guess is it was yourself, right?

  9. Yeah, you guys are all right. It’s way worse then “My Man Mitch” or the current campaign theme/You Tube videos – “Go Guv” – both of which sound like first grade readers. Oh, maybe the seond part of this year’s campaign theme will be “Go Guv and Spot Talk a Walk.”
