Sadly, I suspect far too many Operation Chaos operatives voted for Hillary and scratched the down-ballot races. In the 7th, they could have helped Jon Elrod by voting for any of Andre's opponents. Instead, Andre ended up with a plurality (not a majority) of the votes cast and thus the nomination.

On the other hand, if Carson has as many as 55% of his constituents voting against him in a primary, that could be a sign of trouble in November if Jon can make his case to those who supported Myers, Orentlicher, and Mays. And having talked to Jon last night, I think that case has a good chance of being made.

Just got an email - it appears Beth White's incompetence just gets better. The Clerk's office had the precinct wrong for Mr. John's PC position. He should have been unopposed as well as Ms. Brandt as they are in separate precincts.

Nothing amazes me anymore with this Clerk.

I noticed a few things - for one, some notable Marion County GOP people lost their elections as Precinct Committeeman. Jennifer Ruby lost Ward 18 Precinct 5, however Holly Davis won Ward 18 Precinct 4. The one that surprised me was County GOP Chairman Tom John lost his own precinct's committeeman position. Of course is that because of party politics, or people just have no clue who these folks are and fall victim to ballot placement.

Though that doesn't explain this one - noted Log Cabin blogger Gary Welsh won Ward 11 Precinct 5 rather handily.
