33K Sigs Is A Lot To Get in a Month

Apparently, Republican Senator John Waterman will be no threat to Mitch Daniels getting re-elected after all. Waterman, who was contemplating a run as an Independent, probably wouldn’t have had much of chance at winning anyway let alone getting the needed 32,742 signatures required by June 30th for him to get on the November ballot.

(Lord help me, I’m quoting Jen Wagner)

Running for Governor is harder than it looks, and it looks like Republican State Sen. John Waterman is dropping his bid for the state’s top job.

He’s in good company.

In all seriousness, there’s a huge difference between wanting to run for statewide office and actually running for statewide office.

Indiana Senate Minority Leader Richard Young acknowledged as much when he gave up his quest for the Democratic nomination late last year after running a strong grassroots campaign for many months.

Off topic here a bit, Wagner’s new site isn’t as bad as I was expecting. She seems fairly even-handed. How long that lasts, I’m not sure.  But motherhood seems to have had a very positive effect on her.  Kids will do that.  As a father of two (soon to be three), I know.

  2. Thanks! #3 is due in December.

  3. As long as it’s here prior to December 31st at 11:59 PM :D

  4. The baby will be two weeks late if she (I’m guessing a girl) doesn’t arrive by then.
