Since we launched back in August of 2007, we’ve seen some incredible things happen around the state and around the nation politically and Hoosier Access has been there with as much up to minute coverage as possible.
But now we are asking for your help.
(Read more after the leap. I even include a cool Joe Cocker Video)
You may noticed we have added a Donation button just below the login area. We are starting a donation drive to help bring about Hoosier Access Version 2.0. Some of the highlights will include, slick updated site design, responding directly to user comments and establishing user blogs for those who have registered accounts with Hoosier Access. We’re tech savvy, but not enough to make this happen. So we need to bring in the big guns to make it happen. We’re also using this drive to help improve Hoosier Access radio by purchasing needed additional microphones for the podcasts.
Our goal is to raise $5,000, but we can only do this with your help. We’re asking our readers to donate $5 or $10. That’s two trips to Starbucks if you think about it. But your investment into Hoosier Access will go much farther. But don’t stop there if you don’t want to. You can donate as much as you want. However, it is not tax deductible.
Should you feel like helping out, click the donate button over on the right just below the login. We greatly appreciate it as we work to bring you the best political coverage the state has to offer.

Let me just take the opportunity to second what josh has said. I have been tagging along with this “rogue band” of political hacks since I believe shortly after the November election. Since then, and because I was intellectually overshadowed by my other collegues, I have gained a greater knowledge of not only the democratic process in general, but also the “players” on both sides and the issues that are so critical to local, state, and national platforms.
The “blog haters”, if there are any, will probably disagree with this, but I believe that the blogs have played a significant role in some of the recent elections; most notably greg ballard’s election.
With the mainstream media becoming more diluted and twisted every day, blogs like this one continue to be a growing source for all the news that is pertinent to people’s everyday lives. Bloggers are not accountable to any mainstream outlet, only to themselves. I always tell my co-workers, “if you want to know what’s really going on in indianapolis or the state, then go to the blogs.”
I will definitely be hitting the donate button and I encourage those who enjoy this site to do so as well.
