Allen County Right to Life to Host Candidate Forum for Stutzman Replacements in HD52

I have the pleasure of moderating a candidate forum in Kendallville for the many candidates who have announced their intentions to run in the caucus to replace State Representative Marlin Stutzman on the ballot as he moves on to take Senator Bob Meeks place in the state senate. If you’re in northern Indiana, please stop by. Details belows.

Right to Life groups host forum for candidates running in House District 52 caucus.

Fort Wayne, IN — Precinct committee leaders who will choose a candidate to replace Representative Marlin Stutzman on the November ballot have been invited to meet with candidates who will run in a special caucus on Monday, June 23rd. The caucus will fill the vacancy created when Stutzman was chosen to replace Senator Bob Meeks, who resigned after the Primary. The Forum is hosted by Northeast Indiana Right to Life, Indiana Right to Life and Allen County Right to Life. Cathie Humbarger, Communications Director for Indiana Right to Life and Executive Director of Allen County Right to Life, said, “It is incumbent on those of us who are committed to defending innocent human life and the family to hear from candidates who are running for office. This is even more important in these special circumstances when the campaign is short and opportunities to get to know the candidates are limited. It’s a privilege to sponsor this Forum for the benefit of all concerned.” The Forum will include statements from the candidates and questions from the floor. Topics of discussion are not limited to pro-life issues and will include any legislative concerns.

The Candidates’ Forum is open to the public and will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2008, at 7:00 p.m. at the Four County Area Vocational Cooperative, 1607 East Dowling Street, Kendallville, IN, in the large meeting room.

About Northeast Indiana Right to Life, Indiana Right to Life and Allen County Right to Life

These Right to Life organizations are the voice for thousands of area residents who are committed to advocate for a culture of life, which we accomplish through education in the social, religious, legal, medical, scientific and legislative fields. Abortion, infanticide, and euthanasia are negative, violent and primitive responses to complex social problems that demand genuine compassion and rational, responsible thinking. Further, embryonic stem-cell research and human cloning are unacceptable because they result in the willful destruction of human life.
