This is No Way to Treat Your Supporters

In our current national economy, times are a bit tough and money is tight. The RNC, however, doesn’t think that should keep people from making non-tax deductible donations to them. Now don’t get us wrong. Those of us at Hoosier Access are fans of the RNC, but this is no way to treat your supporters if they haven’t “ponied” up in a while. Friends of the site, Kurt and Kristen Luidhardt, got this letter in the mail recently.

Um, yeah, I’m ready to give. How about you?!

  1. I got the same letter. As a Republican County Chairman, it certainly caught my attention. Perhaps that was the reaction they were looking for but I am not inclined to give more money or any at all after reading it. Republicans need to get back to the root of what our party stands for before most folks start opening their wallets and check books again.

  2. I got the mail as well a couple of days ago. They will get a response from me, but it won’t be what they want….

  3. I received this letter as well. I’ll respond the same way Bob Barr did. “I didn’t leave the Republican party. It left me.”

  4. Ditto what divi1960 says (though I’m not a Republican). This party has nominated a two-faced lying liberal as it’s presidential candidate, thus damning this nation to four years of Obama.

THANKS GOP! Sure, I’ll send you clowns a check.

  5. Perhaps its time for the roots to consider taking our party back over. Enough of these RINOs.

RNC won’t get a penny of my money this year. I give directly to candidates WHO DESERVE SUPPORT!

    Passive-Agressive letters from everyone!!!

  7. RNC doesn’t get a dime until they vow to put a stop to earmarks and runaway government — and then get elected and do so.

  8. Wow. It’s like they’re TRYING to alienate people.

I’m going to agree with Jezierski, support candidates that deserve it. But I’ll add, regardless of what party (D, R or L) they belong to.

The bottom line is that many people have given up on the limited government, low tax, fiscal conservative Republican Party that seemingly only exists in rare pockets (Ron Paul, Jeff Flake and for the most part folks like Mike Pence or even Duncan Hunter isn’t terrible).

And, unfortunately, fewer people (it seems) are waking up to big business, anti-capitalism, economic drag creating Democrat party.

Libertarian criticisms aside, and Mitch Daniels odd “get over Reagan” comment … we sure could use another Reagan. Or Goldwater… Taft anyone??? Please?

  10. The problem with taking the non-partisan “candidates who deserve it” stance is that it does not account for the realities of a legislative body. A vote fro Brad Ellsworth is a vote for Nancy Pelosi, like it or not. A vote for Peggy Welch is a vote for Pat Bauer, like it or not.

Because the Democrats controlled the Indiana House (thanks in part to “conservative” Democrats like Welch) the constitutional amendment to protect marriage will not be on the ballot this fall, and now the entire process has to start over. Bauer said he would allow a vote. Bauer lied.

  11. Bauer lying is sort of like the sun rising and setting, isn’t it? You can always tell when Pat Bauer is lying — his mouth moves.

Sadly there are a number of folks in the legislature of whom the same can be said — on both sides of the aisle.
