Luidhardts Reporting from the front lines of House GOP Uprising

Friends of Hoosier Access, Kurt and Kristen Luidhardt, are in Washington, D.C. covering, live, the action on Capitol Hill. They are currently taking part in a blogger conference in Minority Leader, John Boehner’s office.

Below is just a portion. You can follow their Twitter feeds, as well as Robert Bluey’s of townhall.com fame, after the leap (you don’t need to be a member of Twitter to follow the feeds), plus you can read individual postings of the live blog at Prosper Group Think.

We are joining Conservative bloggers from across the country in Rep. John Boehner’s office to listen to various Republican Congressman who are here in DC urging Speaker Nancy Pelosi to call back Congress to deal with the Energy crisis.

First up in Jeb Hensarling, Chairman of the Republican Study Committee. (Keep in mind, I’m doing my best to quote Hensarling as he speaks- don’t blame him for poor grammar).

Hensarling: We are here to ask 2 things.

(Follow more after the leap)1. Speaker Pelosi, Let my people vote. We are asking for a simple up or down vote on the American Energy Act. The act is an “all of the above” act. It’s not just drilling. Personally, I used to work for a green electricity company.

Today, it’s a carbon based economy and people are hurting. People are telling me they can’t afford to drive their kids to school.

2. Supply counts in the supply and demand equation. Not unlike making a commitment to putting a man on the moon, we need to make a commitment to have American Energy. Doing so will signal a commitment

Our plan isn’t drilling or, it’s drilling and. The problem with Nancy Pelosi and her liberal allies is a religious opposition to American Energy.

How long will they stay? Personally, I am going back to Texas tonight but will be back. We’ve literally got Republican members of the house on the planes right now to get back to Washington, DC.

  1. Wait, House Republicans are doing something positive? Uprising!

  2. It’s more than House Democrats are doing. I wonder how that book tour is going for Nancy Pelosi?

  3. The Amazon rank is 1,709 this afternoon.
