Typical: Democrat Legislator Wastes Taxpayer Funds for Campaigning
Press Release from Bob Heaton for State Representative:

INCUMBENT USES TAXPAYER DOLLARS FOR SELF-PROMOTION
Terre Haute – It has recently been discovered that incumbent State Representative Vern Tincher has used taxpayer dollars to aide his campaign. Just last week, a well produced mail piece praising Tincher’s record on illegal immigration control was sent to voters in House District 46. The mail piece was paid by the Indiana House of Representatives and included an Indianapolis return address.
“The mail piece sent last week from Vern Tincher was undoubtedly produced with the intent to supplement his re-election efforts,” said Bob Heaton, Tincher’s opponent in the race for House District 46. “It is extremely disappointing to see the taxpayers’ money spent on such things. It is especially troublesome given the current state of the economy. Even though this practice may be legal, it does not make it right.”In response to the blatant abuse of taxpayer dollars, Heaton has stated that he plans to support legislation that will strengthen the cap on the amount incumbent legislators may spend on constituent mailings. In addition, Heaton believes there should be better control over the content of constituent mail in order to avoid this kind of taxpayer paid self-promotion.
Raised in Cory, Bob Heaton is a lifetime resident of House District 46. Heaton is the owner of Heaton Financial Services, Inc. Heaton and his wife of 27 years, Jane Ann, have two children Allison (25) and Travis (21).
House District 46 includes southern Vigo County and portions of Clay, Owen and Monroe County.
