B. Hussein Obama’s Muncie “Office”

Thursday, August 7th, 2008

Frugal Hoosiers has the scoop. Just what we had suspected for quite some time. Those “Obama offices” opening all over Indiana are mainly a ruse.

This office in Muncie - vacant. According to FH these “offices” were opened with grand openings and 10 day leases. Many of his other “offices” are within existing Democrat HQ’s.

Gov. Daniels Agrees To Three Debates

Thursday, August 7th, 2008

From Gov. Daniels’ campaign twitter feed:

Governor Daniels agrees to 3 debates. 9/16 in Merrillville, 9/23 in Jasper, 10/14 in Bloomington.

I find this rather interesting. He’s agreed to do this in two Democrat strongholds - Places where the Governor isn’t exactly the most loved political figure - Northern Lake County and the People’s Republic of Bloomington. Northern Lake County of course because of Steelworkers support of Jill Long Thompson and their perceived “sale” of the Toll Road to “furriners”. Never mind that King Richard II of Chicago “sold” his Skyway - which connects the Toll Road to the Dan Ryan Expy - to the very same “furriners”. The People’s Republic of Bloomington is upset at the Governor for any reason from the War in Iraq to the Interstate 69 south extension to Evansville (Psst! Gov. O’Bannon plotted that route with the FHWA, not Gov. Daniels. Gov. Daniels is just seeing that construction gets started).

Speaker of the Flop: Pelosi Sells 2,737 Copies of Book

Thursday, August 7th, 2008

I imagine her book tour has been totally worth it though.

From the Drudge Report:

The most powerful woman in the history of American politics is suffering a humiliating defeat at the nation’s bookstores, sales figures show.

In her first week at market, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi sold just 2,737 copies of her book KNOW YOUR POWER, according to NIELSEN BOOKSCAN.

The DOUBLEDAY release was launched with a full media push, featuring high profile interviews on TODAY,THE VIEW, and THIS WEEK.

“I wrote the book in response to people asking me what it was like to go from housewife to House Speaker and for advice as to how young people, especially women, could balance family and career,” Pelosi told the WASHINGTON POST.

Pelosi’s sales debacle [#41 on the Non-Fiction Chart] is dramatically overshadowed by the first high profile anti-Obama book, OBAMA NATION, which debuts at #1 on both the BOOKSCAN and the NEW YORK TIMES Bestseller List, with 21,466 copies moved, industry insiders tell DRUDGE.

“The speaker was pre-occupied with house business last week,” a source close to Pelosi explained Thursday morning. “She has now turned her focus to promoting this extraordinary book… doing local signings and speeches. I think we’ll see an up tick.”

The Pelosi led congress has the lowest approval rating in history (worse than that of President Bush…I know that really bothers liberals) and instead of dealing with the energy issue, the potentially defining issue of 2008, before the August recess, she cuts out early, denying the afternoon scheduled debate, to make sure she catches the first flight on her book tour that’s sold less than 3,000 copies. Brilliant Madame Speaker. Just brilliant.

“Animal rights” jihadists attempt to kill California scientist

Thursday, August 7th, 2008

In a sickening and frightening act of jihad, “animal rights” fanatics attempted to murder a California scientist who was performing biomedical research at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Read more about this despicable act of terrorism here, here and here. CBS News reports:

One scientist and his family, including two small children, were forced to flee from a second-story window Saturday after a firebomb was lit on their front porch, filling the off-campus house with smoke, Santa Cruz police said. An adult was treated for minor injuries at a hospital and released.

It gets worse, when the North American Animal Liberation press office issued a fatwa.

“It’s regrettable that certain scientists are willing to put their families at risk by choosing to do wasteful animal experiments,” press office spokesman Jerry Vlasak said in the statement.

Baron Really Does Have Something to Hide: “Don’t Tape Me Bro!” Town Hall Release Changed

Thursday, August 7th, 2008

Yesterday, I blogged about Baron Hill’s efforts to muzzle any Hoosier that wanted to record his upcoming town hall event in Seymour.

Baron’s restrictions were so absurd that they even drew a rare (and very pointed) press release from the 9th District Republican Chairman.

When you’re a representative from southern Indiana and decide to blatantly copy Nancy Pelosi (who is presently preventing cameras from recording House Republicans on the House floor), you should expect someone to sit up and take notice.

Given the flack Baron was getting, I wasn’t surprised to come home from work and find that he and his staff had decided to play George Orwell with the press release and remove the line about no taping.

They deleted the old press release from the front page, and replaced it with this one instead, which conveniently leaves off the line about no recording.

No word is said about whether the ban on recording itself has been lifted; the mention of it has simply been erased and flushed down the memory hole.

War is peace, freedom is slavery, ignorance is strength, we have always been at war with Eurasia, and Baron Hill has never told a lie or misled anyone.

But the questions must be asked regardless of Baron’s efforts to cover up what his press release said.

What does Baron Hill have to hide?
