…he supports infanticide. But we must remember, the Obamassiah can’t be burdened with these issues because it’s above his pay grade.

Stephanie Tubbs-Jones (D-OH) was reported in many MSM articles as having died from a brain aneurysm. However the AP has retracted that report and is now citing “her physician” and stating she is in critical condition and having “limited brain function”.
Ms. Tubbs-Jones gave the eulogy of the late Indiana 7th District congresswoman Julia Carson with the now infamous words “Send My Seed“. That was, in other words, elect her grandson current congressman Andre Carson to her seat.
*Update* - Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs-Jones has passed away due to a brain hemorrhage.
*Update 2* - We, along with other bloggers on the right, are respectful when elected leaders pass. We don’t agree with their politics, but respect them otherwise. As opposed to the moonbats on Democratic Underground who celebrate when conservatives pass, and use one of their own’s passing to take swipes at the Right.
As blogger, and contributor to Hoosier Access, Scott Tibbs has already noted, Baron Hill doesn’t have much of a problem with Barack Obama or the Obamassiah’s extremely radical position in favor of leaving babies that survive botched abortions to die.
Baron was on WGCL in Bloomington on August 8, and Scott called in to ask him about this position. Baron took exception to being criticized for his endorsement of Barack Obama:
Now that endorsement was also made in the face of the clear support of establishment and rank-and-file Democrats in the 9th District for Hillary Clinton.

*Update* - Obama is not coming to Indiana on Saturday. Thanks to the WaPo for clarifying what could have been easily discerned. (h/t Derek Pillie’s twitter feed)
So the blogosphere and the news rooms are swirling with glee and delight that Barack Obama might actually pick Senator Bayh as his running mate. Smoke and mirrors while Obama secretly works on his real pick or just enough loose rope to reel people in?
Consider that the Nashville Post broke the story this morning that Obama was heading to Indiana this weekend for a potential “major event”.
The Nashville Post, which broke the news of Obama’s impending visit, reports that the trip to Indianapolis includes a “major event” and that senior Obama officials are being called in from around the country to attend.
CBS News previously reported that Obama plans a major rally with his newly announced running mate in Springfield, Illinois, on Saturday at the site where Obama launched his presidential campaign.
Sounds sexy doesn’t it? Makes all the chattering classes squirm and squeal with delight. That is, unless you’re part of the MoveOn.org crowd who feel that Evan Bayh couldn’t hold Obama’s liberal jock strap.

The Nashville City Paper reports:
“A Republican State House candidate who said his expunged DUI records are being used against him in his campaign to unseat a longtime Democratic incumbent is joining leaders from both political parties in calling for an outside investigation into allegations of unauthorized background checks performed by a Tennessee Highway Patrolman.
However, a THP spokesperson said a list of those whose backgrounds were allegedly probed by Lt. Ronnie Shirley would not be made public anytime soon but instead turned over to the district attorney once an internal investigation is complete. Tennessee Department of Safety Officials announced Tuesday Shirley was put on administrative leave and that the THP would continue its internal investigation.
GOP Lebanon businessman A.J. McCall is challenging State Rep. Stratton Bone for the 46th District House seat, a race observers on both sides of the political aisle say is likely a close race.”

A recent survey conducted by Survey USA has Governor Daniels crushing his opponent Jill Long Thompson if the election were held today (or Tuesday, when the poll was released) 52% to 38%. While the same poll gives Indiana to John McCain 50% to 44%. The survey was conducted for WHAS-TV in Louisville and WCPO-TV in Cincinnati and as taken. SurveyUSA interviewed 900 Indiana adults 08/16/08 through 08/18/08. Of them, 779 were registered to vote. Of the registered voters, 645 were determined by SurveyUSA to be likely voters in the 11/04/08 general election.
A few other numbers to look at just before the leap, 23% of Democrats were willing to cross over and vote for Governor Daniels, while 12% of Republicans we’re willing to cross over to vote for JLT. But the startling number to me was that only 4% of voters were undecided. The remaining percentage went to Libertarian/Independent candidates. That basically means that barring a catastrophe, Governor Daniels sails to victory.
What’s interesting about the presidential dynamics of the poll is that it shows that Senator McCain has increased his lead with those who attend church regularly from 16% to 28%, while those who don’t Obama has increased his lead to 23%. They note that this survey overlapped the Civil forum at Rick Warren’s Saddleback Church. 12% of Republicans cross over to vote for Senator Obama, which is in line with the 12% who were crossing over for JLT and 19% of Democrats cross over to vote for Senator McCain.
