Looks like our buddy, Abdul Hakim-Shabazz of Abdul in the Morning, made a guest appearance on Fox News to discuss Republican Mayor Rob Thoman of Southport and his banishing of prayer at city council meetings.

Obamassiah Threatens McCain, Vows Victory, Called “Blessed” by Nancy Pelosi

Thursday, August 21st, 2008

From the AP:

A combative Barack Obama said Tuesday that Republican John McCain “doesn’t know what he’s up against” in this election.

Obama, campaigning in a state where he hopes to become the first Democratic presidential candidate to win in more than three decades, implored his supporters to fight for the presidency.

“Our job in this election is not just ‘win,’ although I’m a big believer in winning,” Obama said during the rally. “I don’t intend to lose this election. John McCain doesn’t know what he’s up against.”

In this, at least, he is probably correct; Barack Obama’s past is filled with the corpses of the political careers of those that did not take him and his Chicagoland tactics seriously.

Won’t See This in the NBC Olympics Archive

Thursday, August 21st, 2008

Egads! Two time gold medal Olympians Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh actually thank President Bush after their victory against the Chinese on live tv…much to NBC’s chagrin.

Via Hot Air:

A palate cleanser by popular request; you’ll remember our heroines here from the Butt-Pat That Wasn’t. The official Olympics site has highlights of the match but this snippet had to be rescued from oblivion by Tivo. Exit question: Good lord — don’t they know who runs this network now?

Drilling Poll Crosstabs

Thursday, August 21st, 2008

I had blogged earlier about a poll showing that 64% of Hoosiers favor more drilling.

I had requested crosstabs from those that did the polling. This is what was taken as a part of the poll:

The data from the Indiana survey have not been examined for regional or ethnic differences. Here’s what I was able to gather:

Those who were more likely to support increased access –

Men - 70 percent; women - 59 percent.
Republicans - 77 percent; Independents - 57 percent; Democrats - 55 percent
Conservatives - 71 percent; Liberals - 53 percent
$50K or higher annual income more likely to strongly support - 53 percent; less than $50K income - 39 percent

It’s strange that strongly support is lower among those with less than $50K in income, rather than more. That seems counterintuitive.

Nels Ackerson’s campaign is falling apart

Thursday, August 21st, 2008

Believe it or not, there are a few other Congressional Races going on in Indiana…

Let’s take a look at the race involving my friend and Congressman, Steve Buyer.

You may remember that the slick D.C. Trial Lawyer Nels Ackerson who is running against Steve Buyer in the Fourth District had some problems a few weeks ago with attendance and general apathy about his campaign.

Remember the guy who held a press conference in Zionsville attacking Persian Gulf War Veteran Steve Buyer’s record of support for veterans despite the fact that only a half dozen supporters were in attendance and none of them were press?

Well, he continues to have these problems except this time it is much worse.
A “friend” has recently reported to me that Nels held a press conference on his pledge for government accountability that not only did no press show up but no supporters showed up as well.

Darn, that’s twice. Luck like that don’t come all that often Nels.

I was told that Nels held this press conference in the UAW hall across the street from Allison Transmissions and the only people sitting in the 50 empty chairs in the large union hall was him, former Congressman Andy Jacobs who was going to introduce Nels, three members of Nels’ staff, and an obviously embarrassed Nels Ackerson.

DNC Pulls Out Anti-Semitism Card

Thursday, August 21st, 2008

Yep. The same party that accuses us of being a bunch of bigots, has publicly whipped out its Anti-Semitic card. It seems the DNC has prepared a set of web pages featuring its opposition research on Sen. McCain’s potential VP choices. Their page on Virginia’s Eric Cantor associates Cantor with now disgraced former lobbyist Jack Abramoff.

“Both Abramoff and Cantor are Jewish.”

Yup. You read that correctly. Put on the Tyvek bunny suit and go take a peek at the DNC’s site if you don’t believe me.

I find the hypocrisy amazing. If the GOP even considered using the J-card against a Democrat such as, say, Dr. David Orentlicher there would be yelling and screeching from the moonbats that would top even the worst trailer park argument. However the DNC is free to fling the J-card around to suit them.

Charlie Daniels On His Soapbox

Thursday, August 21st, 2008

Charlie Daniels writes on his Soapbox the following:

“I just wish we had a genuine redneck running for president. It would be wonderful to have just one presidential candidate who didn’t try to play both ends against the middle who would come out and say what they really mean.

A redneck wouldn’t take any lip off little tin dictators like Hugo Chavez and would stand toe to toe with the likes of Putin and Ahmadimijad and hunt down al-Queda to the last man whatever it took.

A redneck would put America first and not be concerned what the rest of the world thought about it.

A redneck would protect our gun rights and see that laws were passed to make sure child molesters get what they deserve.

He’d build up our military in manpower and technology because he realizes that a strong America is safer America.

A redneck would protect the Constitution and have the guts to stand up to the people who want to take God out of public life in America.

A redneck would wear an American flag pin and hold his hand over his heart when the national anthem was played or the Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

He would drill in ANWR, off the coast and everywhere else we need to drill to end our dependence on foreign oil.

A redneck would make sure that if someone fathers a child that he is forced to support it and respect family values.

And a note to the cherry pickers, lest you start accusing me of being a male chauvinist pig, you can insert she for every place I’ve said he. There are plenty of redneck ladies out there too.

What do you think?”

YES!! Take that, Toby Keith and the Ditzy Twits!
