I have to agree with Joel, that what you said was one large crock of crap (I’ll write it). I am a small business owner, my father is a small business owner, my uncle is a small business owner. We are all conservative and have taken on some of the greatest risks in our lives. Some of the most conservative people you will find are small business owners and the risks we take everyday sometimes involve some of the hardest decisions we’ll ever have to make in our lives.

So before you go off spouting some of the most pointless drivel I’ve ever read from a commenter, do your homework on what risk really is.

I could answer the idiot statement that you made, but I am afraid that you will not understand it.

The answer is that POLITICAL conservatism has nothing to do with taking chances or not. Some of the most conservative people that I know are business owners. Having been one myself, I am painfully aware of the fact that starting or owning a business is a chance taking endeavor. There is nothing “safe” about it.

You are making a non sequitur between political conservatism and not taking risks. That is why it is a load of c***.

Next time put a thinking cap on before you spout drivel that wouldn’t hold up in high school debate.

Buying your opinions in the large economy size is sorta like buying an assortment of greeting cards. There are always plenty of birthday cards, and cards for popular holidays, but when you need a “Dingus Day Greetings To My Milkman” card, you’re likely to find yourself without anything appropriate.

And that’s when people find out who’s an intelligent conservative, versus those claiming to be conservative because they’re incapable of thinking.

Actually, there IS a lot of truth to the “smart and interesting” liberal notion.

Conservatives avoid risk. Liberals are adrenaline junkies.

If you are stupid and you take a lot of risks, you probably die young. If you’re intelligent and you take a lot of risks, you be able to survive - and taking those risks makes for some interesting stories.

Since conservatives avoid risk, dumb conservatives don’t get killed off. And admittedly, there ARE a lot of dumb conservatives.

There are many intelligent conservatives as well, but since we avoid risk, we don’t have as many interesting stories to tell.

But we’re happy to remind folks that “May you have an interesting life” is a Chinese curse….
