GOP Veepstakes Early Word: It’s Tim Pawlenty Sarah Palin?

RedState [Ooops RedState seems to have crashed with the web traffic] and Drudge are were both claiming Sen. John McCain has picked Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty as his running mate.

UPDATE 8:16 AM 8/29 - Fox Business Channel reports Tim Pawlenty has issued a statement proclaiming he is NOT making the trip to Dayton, OH today for the announcement. FBC’s latest tea leaves reading indicates perhaps Alaska Governor Sarah Palin.

UPDATE 2 9:00 AM - Fox Business Channel cites a presser from Palin’s office stating Gov. Sarah Palin WILL BE in Dayton, OH today.

UPDATE 3: 9:15 AM - ABC News playing the role of “Ministry of Disinformation”? It seems they are reporting Gov. Palin is back at home in Juneau. However commenters to the website article indicate ABC is wrong, with on the ground “spotters” in Dayton claiming they’ve seen Gov. Palin there this morning.

Also, watching Weather Channel this morning, the GOP has hinted if TS (or H) Gustav hits the US Gulf Coast they are willing to postpone the convention in order for their elected officials in their home states can have opportunity to deal with the emergency situations that arise.

  1. Meh. Better than Romney, Lieberman or Ridge. He’s young & represents a bright future for the GOP though, which is good.

  2. As a young Republican I am actually very excited now. We need some young Conservative blood and Pawlenty is tried and tested. I like his back story and he comes off very well on TV

  3. Read it again boys…
As of this morning, Drudge isn’t reporting anything…

  4. I love this. No one even seems to have the short list right.

Imagine a campaign (or administration) that is able to have discipline. The end result is a lot of buzz.
