Michael, for the next little while I have to deal with analog, off-the-air signals. That means I don't get the opportunity for the nice digital channel feeds. I would guess that all three networks on their news feed channel ran the feed uninterrupted. Did you get commentary?

My favorite part of Fred's speech was the section on Democrat tax policy:

"They’re just going to tax “businesses”! So unless you buy something from a “business”, like groceries or clothes or gasoline … or unless you get a paycheck from a big or a small “business”, don’t worry … it’s not going to affect you.

"They say they are not going to take any water out of your side of the bucket, just the “other” side of the bucket! That’s their idea of tax reform."

He nailed the situation clearly and with good humor.

My apologies Joel I thought PBS ran an uninterrupted feed. I watched channel 6.2 - that must be an AP feed.

PBS is not exactly uninterrupted. For instance they went to commercials (yes, if you don't watch PBS they do have commercials) throughout the entire Reagan video. They also have a bunch of blathering liberals doing commentary during the lower profile speakers. Yet they have more complete coverage than the networks. But I ended up viewing the AP feed because I wanted all of the boring speeches, too.

WRTV Digital 6.2 (or 247 on Comcast) carried the entire convention uninterrupted by commercials. Of course PBS and C-SPAN have their uninterrupted feeds.

Ditto Scott. ABC, NBC, and CBS were shameful. I wonder if NBC has a hair up it's derriere over Fred Thompson leaving it's "franchise" show Law & Order. At least Fox (network) didn't bother and ran "normal" programming for the "don't give a crud I'm staying home" crowd.

The coverage of the convention by the major networks was shameful.

ABC News spent the Fred and Lieberman speeches interviewing people about "the problems with Sarah Palin." They basically showed none of the speeches themselves.

NBC and CBS had only part of Fred, but all of Lieberman.

It's disgusting.

It was a great speech. I watched via the AP video feed (via WIBC) so I don't know how much of the speech was covered by the networks/cable channels. It was very strong. It hit directly at Obama without ever mentioning his name. It should have been the last speech of the night.
