Mr. Chairman, delegates, and fellow citizens: I am honored to be considered for the nomination for Vice President of the United States…
I accept the call to help our nominee for president to serve and defend America.
I accept the challenge of a tough fight in this election… against confident opponents … at a crucial hour for our country.
And I accept the privilege of serving with a man who has come through much harder missions … and met far graver challenges … and knows how tough fights are won - the next president of the United States, John S. McCain. (Read More…) (more…)
The BDS continues… The moonbats should consider themselves thankful their hero Bill Clinton isn’t sitting in the clink right now.
From The Guardian:
Democratic vice-presidential nominee Joe Biden said yesterday that he and running mate Barack Obama could pursue criminal charges against the Bush administration if they are elected in November.
Biden’s comments, first reported by ABC news, attracted little notice on a day dominated by the drama surrounding his Republican counterpart, Alaska governor Sarah Palin.
But his statements represent the Democrats’ strongest vow so far this year to investigate alleged misdeeds committed during the Bush years.

Apparently, David Axelrod and David Plouffe are not actually running The One’s campaign. He’s doing it himself.
In fact, the very campaign itself gives the Obamassiah the experience necessary to be president and to respond to destructive natural disasters such as hurricanes and earthquakes.
It also apparently gives him more experience than Governor Sarah Palin.
The exchange on CNN (full transcript from Hot Air):
AC: Some Republican critics say, you don’t have the experience to handle a situation like this [Hurricane Gustav]. They’ve in fact said that Governor Palin has more executive experience as mayor of a small town and as governor of a big state like Alaska. What’s your response?

Just imagine if this were to happen? I think we might actually see the heads of everyone who writes for Daily Kos actually explode.
Via Michelle Malkin (who already makes Democrats froth at the mouth at her very presence)
A movement is born. From Reader D.:
I heard about a convention attendee wearing a shirt that simply stated “I am Sarah Palin”. Hearing this a light bulb went on. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if the McCain camp rolled out an “I am Sarah Palin” ad campaign? It would simply be a series of commercials that show a woman describing herself, like “I am a mom of 2 children, I am a wife, I am a PTA volunteer, I am a team mom, I am a marketing executive, I am a Democrat, etc” then the tag line, the woman says “I am Sarah Palin.”
They could have a series of women of different ages and different races giving their story, all saying in the end, “I am Sarah Palin.”
I would love to see these ads, it would drive the lefty feminists CRAZY.
Well, looks like you can now order the “I am Sarah Palin” shirt.
Friend of Hoosier Access, Abdul Hakim-Shabazz is running a poll over on his blog Indiana Barrister for the “favorite pundit”. The choices are Jim Shella, Matt Tully, She Who Is Never Mentioned By Name In My Posts Here, Brian Howey, and of course fellow co-Director and all around good guy Josh Gillespie. Some poll that is - four Dems to one Republican.
Head over to Indiana Barrister and vote for Josh.
Listening to Fox Business Channel, they are reporting the checkpoints that previously sealed off New Orleans and surrounding parishes are removed and residents are allowed to return home and begin the damage assessment and cleanup.
First came the whole Trig Palin rumor.
Then came the rumors about Bristol Palin’s boyfriend.
Now come the breathless reports that she was once a member of a secessionist political party.
It turns out that Palin has been a lifelong Republican, something substantiated by her voter record (available in PDF at that link). Alaska requires party identification to be registered and recorded, and Sarah Palin has always been a Republican.
Did she visit a convention of the Alaska Independence Party (AIP) in the 1990s? Who knows. I myself have been to Democrat conventions and pow-wows myself before (and her husband, who is part native Alaskan, was a member of AIP for a time), so it’s entirely possible.
Did she record a video to the convention? Seems like it, but that’s also hardly disqualifying of anything. Governors record video of or provide written perfunctory messages to conventions and gatherings all the time. (Remember Mitch Daniels’ gay pride welcome letter? Yeah.)
