Columbia City Mayor - “I Think it’s 50-50 Odds (McCain) Will Make it Four Years”

There was plenty of laughter at the expense of high profile Republicans at the most recent Thomas Marshall dinner up in Whitley County.  Doesn’t surprise me.  Cheap shots about Governor Sarah Palin’s experience were taken by Columbia City mayor Jim Fleck, who apparently decided that being head of a the Harvard Law review was enough to warrant that Barack Obama was qualified enough to be President.  That’s to be expected.  Democrats to this day can’t point to any one legislative accomplishment by Senator Obama, so they ridicule someone who actually does have to make a decision every once in a while.

(Speaking of decision avoidance, wasn’t it Senator Obama who was scolded by President Bush to come to Washington to work on the economic crisis?  Yeah, he’s ready to be president.  But I digress…)

(Read more after the leap)

But the evening and the comments didn’t end there.  In fact, Mayor Fleck went on to say that he doesn’t think John McCain will survive his first term as President, should he be elected, and lampooned that Sarah Palin  might not know what the “red button” is all about:

“I think its 50-50 odds (McCain) will make it four year years and I’m not sure she knows what the red button means,” Fleck stated.

Really, is this all the Democrats have?  We’re not dealing with another Dan Quayle here folks.  Frankly, I don’t think Jim Fleck knows what the red button means.  At age 70, he may not make it through his term as mayor.  Would that be a fair assessment?  No it wouldn’t.  But small minded Democrats love to ridicule Senator McCain for his age and Governor Palin for her inexperience.  Meanwhile, Senator Obama is co-opting Missouri law enforcement and county prosecutors to round up groups or individuals who dare say anything negative about “The Chosen One” while on the taxpayer dime

When do the double standards end?  Apparently as far as Democrats and Obama supporters are concerned, they’re only getting started.
