  1. Bless her heart. And here I thought he was fighting in Iraq after getting busted with meth and a history of drug abuse. Since he was told to, literally, shape up or ship out and couldn’t shape up, he was shipped out.

I’ll bet he’s glad to have a scapegoat now. When he’s fighting he can think, “This is nothing I could help. It’s that heckler’s fault I’m here.”

After all, that seems to be the Republican mantra this election. “Things are bad and I’m here. I’ve got to clean up this mess I made, but it’s not my fault. I’ll vote for change (that’s the same as before).”

  2. Pay attention tonight and you may learn WHO made the mess.

Hint: even Saturday Night Live has it figured out and it has nothing to do with McCain, Palin or even Bush.

  3. Bil, come on, give the kid a chance. LOL. At least they’re trying to straighten him out. Even George W and Barack had their shortcomings that had to be overcome.

More importantly though, the current economic crisis came up here in Bil’s comments. There is no way in hell to tag this solely on Republicans or Democrats. We’ve used our tax and regulatory policies to chase our money and jobs overseas, the Federal Reserve and government policy (Community Reinvestment Act for example) has created or at least helped grow two bubbles in the past decade that have burst. Our entire economy is based on debt and money created out of thin air based on nothing but the “full faith and credit” of a country that is $10 trillion in debt. Oy!

The solutions offered up by our politicians are bad at best, but let’s face it, Bush, Pelosi and Reid are not the sharpest knives in the drawer. Bernanke and Paulson leave much to be desired and Barney Frank is a fool.

Until everyone’s political biases can be resolved and we can put the stupid class warfare crap to rest, we’re going to be in trouble. We can worry about rich people in America all we want while rich people in other countries, like the UAE (NO INCOME TAX) buy up our assets and loan us the money we need to dig a deeper hole.

The solution includes massive cuts in government spending and taxation, preferably no longer taxing production and by going to a retail consumption tax allowing $13 trillion in overseas funds to start getting repatriated (we could use the liquidity as deposits vs. more debt don’cha think?) and government has to quit making promises it can’t (or doesn’t) keep… like we can trust them with our retirement money.

The current number by the way is close to $57 trillion. $500,000 per American Household and counting. Time to junk the current system.
