Attorney General Debate in Northwest Indiana Oct 21st

Northwest Indiana Attorney General Debate

The readers of this site will remember the convention competition early this summer, wherein Valparaiso Mayor Jon Costas lost to Deputy Attorney General Greg Zoeller. It was hard fought, but clean and professional. After he lost, Mayor Costas not only endorsed Zoeller but he also asked to chair the campaign.
This site has wholeheartedly endorsed Greg Zoeller for Attorney General of the State of Indiana, and we hope you can make time to attend the debate, here’s the announcement on NWI Connect today:

AG hopefuls to debate in Hammond

Democrat Linda Pence and Republican Greg Zoeller will debate at Purdue Calumet on Tuesday, October 21st. Of course I can’t find anything about this on Purdue Cal’s website, but it is in the NWI Times. What’s up with local colleges not posting political events on their public calendars? Recently Bob Barr spoke at Valparaiso University and not a word about was to be found on the Valpo website. Oh well. Sorry to get on a tangent.

The debate will take place at noon on the Hammond campus. Further details are pending. Zoeller, who defeated Valparaiso mayor Jon Costas as the Republican Indiana AG nominee, specifically pushed for the debate to held in Northwest Indiana. NWI Connect fully supports Greg Zoeller for AG! Be sure to watch the debates i

Baron Hill: HYPOCRITE

Friday, October 10th, 2008

In an October 7 Seymour Tribune Article, Baron Hill agreed with a DCCC ad that took Sodrel’s comments about the economy out of context. Hill said, “To say, or even suggest, that the fundamentals of our economy are strong is a complete affront to Hoosier families who are struggling day in and day out.

This is rather interesting because one day later at a meeting with business and financial leaders in Seymour Congressman Hill said, “The general sense I’m getting is that the local economy here is not that bad, but there are some worries and concerns” and “By and large, I’m hearing things are good here in southern Indiana.” (As quoted in the Seymour Tribune on October 9)

Then to top it all off, Hill sends out a letter to supporters dated October 9 that states “Our country is in dire straights” [shouldn't that be "dire straits"? - ed.] and “Due to our country’s current financial crisis, it has never been more important to elect leaders committed to getting America back on the right track.”

Republican Challenger and former Congressman Mike Sodrel retorted: “Baron cannot have it both ways. To agree with a DCCC attack ad against me that took my comments completely out of context, and then to say virtually the same thing a day later is hypocritical, and to return to the first position is a flip-flop.

CNN Exposes How ACORN Steals Votes For Democrats in Indiana

Friday, October 10th, 2008

(Video promoted from the comments)

CNN spent some serious time in Lake County reviewing phony registrations.  How ACORN is still allowed to register voters, considering they are under Federal investigation in several states, is beyond me.

After watching the video, check out the RNC’s Obama Acorn Tree.

She’s At It Again…

Friday, October 10th, 2008

*Update from Josh* - Dan Tierney informed me that the Marion County GOP requested a list that Beth White said she had of all those who received the wrong absentee ballots. Shockingly, they were all Hard or soft Rs (or Unidentifieds living with Hard or Soft Rs), and the list didn’t have all the people who received wrong ballots, so there’s more out there.  The ineptness of Beth White exceeds any form of understanding.

Indiana’s favorite County Clerk (that is if you’re a Democrat) Beth White once again shows off her excellent election operation skills.

Last night on Fox 59 there was a piece about absentee voters receiving the wrong ballot. The Marion County GOP Chairman was shown analyzing an absentee ballot, but no sound bite was included in the story so we don’t know what he had to say about the matter. Apparently voters in Teresa Lubbers district received the wrong ballot because they notice Ms. Lubbers was not on the ticket. If they weren’t vigilant in checking the ballot, the ballot would be rejected once it was received at the polling place on Election Day as a bad ballot.

Folks, this happened to me last year prior to the 2007 Municipal Election. As usual, I had an election job to do outside my home precinct so I voted absentee. I received my ballot and noticed the Council district was for District 9, instead of District 5 where I lived at the time. Turns out the Clerk’s office sent me the wrong ballot. I ended up doing a “vote early” in the Clerk’s Office. Of course being the political hack I am I’ll crawl over gravel to cast my straight ticket GOP vote. But what about Joe Sixpack that votes only on sunny days, doesn’t wholly understand the entire process end to end, and doesn’t typically go anywhere near the City-County Building?

BTW, Are you going to vote “YES” on the public question on the back of your ballot in Marion County (except Decatur Township)?

ACORN commiting vote fraud in Lake County.

Friday, October 10th, 2008

Barack Obama’s buddies from ACORN are caught filing bogus voter registrations in Lake County.

ACORN is the organization that Obama worked for when he was a “community organizer”. They’re a bunch of frickin communists.

They’re pushing hard to register as many bogus voters as possible. Then, on election day, Obama operatives will go to our satellite voting centers and vote under the bogus registrations.

Hopefully, Indiana’s voter ID law can keep these people from actually voting. But seeing as these centers are run by Democrats, who knows if the IDs will even be checked.

Video of Gov. Sarah Palin Campaign Stop

Friday, October 10th, 2008

This was taken in Wilmington, OH, not far from Cincinnati. Unfortunately WordPress won’t let me post the video as its not on YouTube it’s on WKRC’s website feed, when Blogger did.

You can find the video though posted over on Weird Pro. Just come back when you’re done.

She’s Coming

Friday, October 10th, 2008

From the Indy Star:

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin could be making her first campaign stop in Indiana soon.

Sen. Lindsey Graham, the South Carolina Republican who is a close ally of Republican presidential nominee Sen. John McCain, announced Thursday night that McCain or his running mate, Palin, plan to pay Hoosiers a visit.

National Rifle Association sells out on Second Amendment rights

Friday, October 10th, 2008

I sent the following letter to the National Rifle Association.

National Rifle Association
11250 Waples Mill Road
Fairfax, Virginia 22030

To whom it may concern,

I was shocked to discover that you endorsed Baron Hill in Indiana’s Ninth Congressional District. With this endorsement, you have permanently lost my support. This endorsement undermines not only your credibility as an organization that allegedly supports Second Amendment rights, but also undermines the Second Amendment itself. I could not be more disappointed with this foolish endorsement.

First of all, I point to Baron Hill’s record as recorded by the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence. (http://www.bradycampaign.org/legislation/scorecard/scorecard.php?shr=IN). I want to highlight the following three pieces of legislation where the Brady Campaign gave Baron Hill positive marks:
