Mental Note: Do Not Tick Off Red State

Words cannot express my pleasure at this project that they are undertaking.

RedState is pleased to announce it is engaging in a special project: Operation Leper.

We’re tracking down all the people from the McCain campaign now whispering smears against Governor Palin to Carl Cameron and others. Michelle Malkin has the details.

We intend to constantly remind the base about these people, monitor who they are working for, and, when 2012 rolls around, see which candidates hire them. Naturally then, you’ll see us go to war against those candidates.

It is our expressed intention to make these few people political lepers.

They’ll just have to be stuck at CBS with Katie’s failed ratings.

Initial list:

  1. Nicolle Wallace
  2. Steve Schmidt
  3. Mark McKinnon

I have a feeling some Romney people will be ending up on that list as well.

  1. Beauty.

Heh. Security code: BELIB. Not bloody likely.

  2. Looks like some of our friends at Frugal Hoosiers aren’t too pleased with this action.

  3. We’re not “fight[ing] amongst ourselves”.

    It’s a purge, and it’s long overdue.

  4. For close to 10 years (basically since Newt–for all his faults–left the GOP leadership) we have been sliding toward becoming a “moderate” party. The last two elections have shown us the folly of that slide. So we have to deal with it. And the implication is that some people who have gained power need to find something else to do with their time. Yes, Nathan, it is a fight amongst ourselves, but you are also right that it is a purge that is overdue.

I welcome it. It is one of the two good things to come out of this miserable elections (Mitch being the other).

  5. Joel is absolutely correct. Ten years of RINOism have led us to where we are today. It’s time to put the Republican party back in the hands of actual Republicans. No one working for McCain could possibly qualify.

If anyone does any reaching across the aisle he’d damn well better be holding a weapon of some sort. Otherwise, stay on your own side and get some work done.

The purge needs to begin as a re-evaluation of leadership at the local level. Not just in Marion County, Indiana but EVERYWHERE!

Some counties have excellent leadership. Whitley and Harrison for examples (yes that’s a shameless plug for two H.A. directors), some which will remain nameless for now don’t have that.

In Indiana, the First Saturday in March 2009 will be the grassroots opportunity to voice your opinion of the future of the GOP. If you’re satisfied that Indiana went blue state for President for the first time since 1964, and while maintaining the status quo statewide got shellacked in local races in some parts of the state in spite of clearly having more qualified candidates then stay with the current leadership.
