Not from a lack of trying, but I don’t get to write about Mike Pence all that often.
But, Politico reports:
GOP Rep. Mike Pence has entered the race for Republican Conference chairman, while Rep. Jeb Hensarling has bowed out, according to House sources.
Pence is a former chairman of the Republican Study Committee, and one of the leading conservatives in the House. Hensarling is the current RSC chairman, and with both of them in the race, it could have diluted the support either man receive.
Rep, Adam Putnam (Fla.), who was Conference chairman, announced on Tuesday that he is stepping down from the post.
Update – Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) is backing Pence’s candidacy, according to Patrick O’Connor.
To bring back strong conversative values to our Party, this is a great move.

A lot is going on right now in the House leadership.
Apparently Boehner is going to stay as Minority Leader. I personally think this is a mistake as he has presided over, what, a 40 seat loss over two elections?
But it appears that Rep. Blunt is stepping down as Minority Whip, apparently leaving that spot open for Rep. Cantor (very good for Conservatives). Apparently others are stepping down as well, leaving room for other Conservatives to have more leadership positions.
