…while Obama is ready to rule.

(More after the leap)

More and more I’m becoming impressed with Michael Steele.  To this day he still has run one of my favorite, more recent, campaign ads.  What Michael Steele possesses, moreso than one of my other favorite candidates, Fred Thompson, is the ability to communicate to a younger generation.  He has the values that appeals to current Republicans and the charisma to reach out to a new and younger generation.  Mind you, Fred Thompson also has charisma.  You don’t become an actor in Hollywood if you don’t have at least a little charisma.

But what does Michael Steele has, that Fred Thompson doesn’t, is he’s a fresh face and a direct contrast to Barack Obama.  Steele has the possibility to represent a new direction for our party.  We’re seeing change coming.  Sarah Palin started it.  Michael Steele can continue it.

Is my mind made up?  You may think so, but it’s not…yet.  But I definitely know who I’m leaning towards.

  1. I would be fine with either. I have heard more of Fred explaining his conservative positions and really LOVE those explanations. I haven’t heard the same from Steele, though he certainly holds the positions that I want to see the Party focus on.

If it came down to a vote for either Steele or Fred, I would sit back and smile.

We will learn a lot about this Party in the next two months.

  2. I believe Fred would punch more hippies.

  3. For that alone, I would like to see Fred as RNC Chair. :)

    Nate’s comment made my day.

  4. My main problem with Fred is the main problem I had with him in primary season. I honestly do not think he has the “fire in the belly”. All due respect to Nate, but Fred would probably contract out the hippie punching.

I love his ideas and I love his commentary, but he has not proven that he is willing to get off his butt and do the legwork necessary.

Frankly, if Newt didn’t come hitched to a baggage car, I’d prefer him. And that’s a stretch for me, because I have never been much of a Newt fan.
