And as usual, the real problem is with our government rather than the corporations that they are decrying. According to the International Herald Tribune (New York Times) Obama is using the public outrage (that the government is fomenting) over the AIG bonuses to increase regulation: www.iht.com/articles/2009/03/22/america/22regulate.php "The Obama administration will call for increased oversight of executive pay at all banks, Wall Street firms and possibly other companies as part of a sweeping plan to overhaul financial regulation, government officials said." This is simply the next step toward totalitarian government control. This is not simply regulating pay at firms that are taking TARP or other government funds, but rather ALL of these companies.
