Since you're running a primary challenge to Souder and apparently view his National Taxpayers Union rating to be inadequate, would you also encourage a similar primary challenge to Lugar (since Lugar's is the same)?

As for quoting the entirety of your press release, please appreciate that it's not our job to quote entire press releases. Getting press for your press releases is, well, your job. I think that people can understand that you're challenging Souder on the basis of his record of spending and bailouts without us quoting what amount to lengthy talking points.

And, all of that being said, good luck. I'm personally of the opinion that the Republican Party, being as it is (or tries to be, or should be) the party of competition and free markets, should support competition and the marketplace of ideas in primaries, too. That can be taken to lengths that are counterproductive, but tends to be healthy.

I hope that any primary in the 3rd district will be of the healthy sort.

Scott,

Thanks for the post. I got a chuckle out of it.

I don't know which is worse, being criticized for managing a district office for Senator Lugar (2008 National Taxpayers Union rating - 51%) twenty years ago or having Sylvia Smith call me a former "ally" of Congressman Souder (2008 National Taxpayers Union rating - 51%). From the numbers, it looks like a tie.

I know it will be tough for some "conservatives" to swallow, but my campaign will prove that you can't support Congressman Souder and claim to oppose wasteful federal spending. You will have to choose a side to avoid hypocracy. Look for a lot more on that topic at my announcement on Tuesday.

As for my employer, it is NRP Financial. The company is based in Bryan, Ohio, which is not quite Wall Street. However, as a licensed securities principal, I understand how the markets work and why it was unnecessary to give Goldman Sachs billions of our tax dollars. All I can say is that the executives at Goldman should send Congressman Souder one hell of a fruit basket. He earned it.

Again, thanks for the post. However, I would appreciate it if, next time, you could include my entire press release - even the parts that disclose Congressman Souder's record on spending. The truth is going to get out in any event. You might as well be on the right side of it.
