Indiana Republican Party Chairman Murray Clark issued the following statement Sunday morning about the roles of Indiana Democrats in passing health care legislation out of the U.S. House on Saturday evening:

Today is a frustrating day for Hoosiers and all Americans. In the midst of economic turmoil, and in spite of the very vocal concerns of their constituents, the Democrat-led Congress showed how out of touch they have become by passing legislation that we can’t afford, will kill jobs, and will bankrupt states. Reps. Baron Hill, Brad Ellsworth and Joe Donnelly voted to thrust upon us a bill that generations of young Hoosiers will struggle to pay for.”

“In the last month alone, we have seen the national deficit reach $1.4 trillion, the national unemployment rate go over 10%, and state after state cut deeply into their budgets.  Now, thanks in part to Baron Hill, Brad Ellsworth and Joe Donnelly, we are adding the burden of over $1 trillion in new spending, billions in taxes and spending, and a mountain of unfunded Medicaid mandates for each state.”

“Americans are clamoring for water to be thrown on the economic fire. Democrats like Reps. Hill, Ellsworth and Donnelly continue to give them gasoline.”

  1. NY-23 certainly showed Republicans how to conduct a winning campaign!

    • Yes it did Wilson. It showed you don’t run a liberal in a conservative seat. Remember, before breaking four promises in the first hour after being sworn in, Bill Owens ran on NOT supporting the public option. I’m guessing right now, there are few voters in NY23 who wish they had their votes back. But elections have consequences. And so do congressional votes. Something more than a few Democrats will learn next November.

  2. Wasn’t that teabagging accountant who didn’t even live in the District conservative enough for you?

    • Wilson, your use of epithets is not shocking as you can’t interact with conservatives without insulting them first. Pretty sad really. That said, remember, the GOP and NRCC endorsed and financed the liberal Scozzafava. She only dropped out the Sunday before the election thereby keeping her name on the ballot. Owens margin of victory was the vote total that Scozzafava received. The fact that she also endorsed Owens showed her true colors. Your inability to even remember or recall history that’s just a few days old isn’t surprising though.

Question to ask Republican House candidates:
“If elected, will you vote to repeal Obama-care”?

    (Assuming it passes the Senate.)
