Democrats have now secured Senator Ben Nelson of Nebraska as he finally admitted to Americans what his price is:
Nelson secured full federal funding for his state to expand Medicaid coverage to all individuals below 133 percent of the federal poverty level. Other states must pay a small portion of the additional cost.
“I know this is hard for some of my colleagues to accept and I appreciate their right to disagree,” Nelson told reporters at the Capitol, of the many changes made at his behest. “But I would not have voted for this bill without these provisions.”
So basically, Nelson wants Indiana and the other 48 states to pitch in to make Nebraska’s Medicaid bill. Does that sound fair to Hoosiers? You still have a chance to make your voice heard to Senator Bayh (that is, if he picks up the phone) before Harry Reid’s imposed Christmas Eve vote.
Call Senator Bayh staring today through this Thursday (Christmas Eve). See if his staff actually picks up. Then tell Senator Bayh to not be Harry Reid’s 60th vote and start over on health care reform.
