The Office of Personnel Management has announced that the Federal Government in DC will be closed Tuesday as it was Monday.  Snowpocalypse is doing an excellent job of making sure that nothing gets accomplished in Washington this week.  And personally, I consider the government shutdown and inability to get anything accomplished the best aspect of this snowstorm.

With 10-20 more inches of snow expected Tuesday and Wednesday, I also consider this the death knell of the global warming movement.

I believe the best comment on this situation comes from from Psalms “The LORD brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; he frustrates the plans of the peoples.” And that my friends, is a beautiful thing.

my pomeranian is also very happy the Federal Govt closed Monday and Tuesday

my pomeranian is also very happy the Federal Government is closed again tomorrow because it means I can stay home with her.

  1. Why are you happy at the Pentagon being disabled somewhat? Are you an Al Qaeda terrorist? You guys got that building once – now you rejoice in snow hobbling the Department of Defense?

  2. Shutting down the CIA, the FBI, NSA, etc is certainly making terrorists everywhere happy !

  3. Here in DC we have a thing called telecommuting and I assure you that all essential personnel in the Department of Defense are either at work or telecommuting to keep you safe. I have many friends who work at the Pentagon and they were all from home despite the shutdown. Calm down.

    • I just find the glee that some alleged patriots find in shutting down our American government puzzling. Terrorists want the same thing: disabling and hindering the Constitutional functioning of American democracy.

      • Wilson, terrorists want the complete destruction of our government. I would expect you to be smart enough to know the different between a simple shutdown for a couple of days where our congress isn’t spending us into oblivion and total destruction. Maybe I set the bar too high for you.

  6. Actually those of us who are small government supporters don’t mind some shutting down of government. It is the working of the US economy that we don’t want shut down. And not surprisingly, business goes on even when the government doesn’t.

The Iranians are not saying they are going to shut down our government on Thursday. They are saying they are going to shut down capitalism.
