Our gift came a day late, but it seems that Evan Bayh read our breakup letter and decided to leave the relationship before we ended it in November.  I can’t say that I am surprised by the announcement.  While Bayh claims that “[e]ven in the current challenging environment, I am confident in my prospects for re-election,” the people standing outside his offices with proverbial torches and pitchforks have told a different story.  I believe his support for the health care bill in Congress would have ensured a loss in November.

I take two things from Senator Bayh’s announcement today:

1.  I believe this is a way for Senator Bayh to save face from a potential walloping in November and hopefully keep his name out there for a future cabinet appointment, a spot on a future Democratic ticket for vice-president or a potential Presidential run of his own.

2. My other thought on the motivation for Bayh’s abrupt retirement is also tied into his future political aspirations.  Without an election to win in November, Senator Bayh will not have an electorate at home to appease and he will be free to vote for a potential health care bill without fearing for his seat.   He knows that the health care bill in Congress is not popular in Indiana, but voting for it would be a good quality for a future run for higher office on the Democrat ticket.

I make no attempt to know what is in a person’s heart, but judging by his past actions and propensity toward doing what is right for himself rather than the people of Indiana, I believe there is more to this story than meets the eye.  Keep the pressure on Bayh, Lugar and all the other Senators to vote against this health care bill.  I assure you that Harry Reid (who might also be making an exit from the Senate come November) would love to make use of Bayh no longer having an election to win in Indiana in an attempt to pass this health care bill.

And now that the Democrat side of the ticket is open, there are already names floating for the Democrat Nomination:

I am kind of wondering if this song went through her head while she was sitting their all by herself?

Ok….This Administration needs to get a clue! Because someone may or may not agree with you…you attack them and try to block them? It is not Presidential and actually childish if you want my opinion. Kind of “I’m going to take my ball and go home” mentality. Maybe it wouldn’t hurt to for this Admin to read books on Leadership and maybe just maybe read some books on what happens when you try to argue with those who buy ink by the barrel.

I am so sick and tired of the Democrats pushing blame to the Republicans and Fox News for their failures, do they honestly think the American People are that stupid?? When you have control of both the House and Senate and you cannot get something passed, I have a reason to believe it is a lack of leadership skills.

I have to give the other networks a hand…they refused to interview the Pay Czar if Fox News wasn’t invited and well the White House invited Fox into the interview.

When this President promised an open and transparent Government here, here and here. He has broken all of these promises, did he think we would forgot? I even have friends who are strong supporters of Obama and the Democrats shaking their heads about this and other issues that this Admin and Democrat controlled Congress has done. When some Democrats and their supporters are so blind to the issues then they need a wake up call.

I am going to post two videos…..H/T to Hot Air and Chicks on the Right for these two videos.

Well they (The Democrats) are at it again….and well I guess this is Dedication Day at Hoosier Access…This is for you Democrats and Move On people. Now they don’t want Democrats to go on Fox News now…Michelle Malkin has this story here and then you have the President and his cronies crying about Fox News here.

They need to understand something….If you cannot lead your own party to vote for your Health Care package…then your not a good leader.

So Democrats and Move On folks….Remember this video is for you!

Readers…Consider this Open Thread Tuesday!

Queen Nancy didn’t seem to happy that King Harry touched her. Harry…you know you must ask the Queen before interrupting or touching…right? Something tells me things are not going well within the Democrat Party and it’s Leaders….

Only three seats away from having a majority in the state House of Representatives, Republicans have fielded a team of candidates that have some potential in southwest Indiana.  The area is culturally conservative in its makeup and is far from being a hopelessly liberal Democrat region.  Evidence of this can be found by looking at some of the Democrats who currently represent the area in the House.  They are not overtly liberal and on the spectrum of their own party they may be considered somewhat more fiscally responsible than most.

Yet not being terribly bad does not mean you are exactly good, and what Indiana needs is good leadership.  Over time the party of government, even if some members believe in growing it slower than their more progressive party compatriots, will take our state down the wrong road.  Taking the middle ground is not the same as taking the high ground and doing nothing wrong is no substitute for doing what is right.

The Evansville Courier Press, not a favorite of some Republicans in times past, has a good article on the four Republican House candidates who are challenging four incumbent Democrats in southwest Indiana.  With a variety of experience and seniority in the statehouse, all of these incumbents do share one thing in common: their districts have been carried at least once by Mitch Daniels.  It is ironic then that in defending the idea that these legislators are not as vulnerable as some currently estimate them to be, the local Democrat Party chairman takes a direct swipe at Gov. Daniels.

“The governor has his agenda, and he’s upset that he can’t get it passed.  I suppose he has a few more highways he wants to give away, and the Democratic House is stopping him from doing that.”

From the Indystar:

A felony official misconduct conviction today resulted in the automatic removal from office of Lawrence Township Trustee Mike Hobbs.

Hobbs, 27, pleaded guilty to the charge this morning in Marion Superior Court, admitting to using a $500 check from the Castleton Volunteer Fire Department to pay his apartment rent in February 2007.

He apologized and asked Judge James Osborn to enter the conviction as a Class A misdemeanor; the option is allowed under Indiana law for a person’s first felony, and it would allow him to stay in office until his term is up at the end of 2010.

Osborn, a fellow Democrat, said no.

As standard procedure, Lawrence Township Democrats will caucus in the near future to pick Hobbs’ replacement. Anyone familiar with Lawrence Township Democrat politics have a hunch on who would be picked to replace Hobbs?

Because she needs to be reminded of the Old Days of what she used to say! Remember this Nancy??

Well I just got done running 2 1/2 hours this morning training for my second full marathon and we as a team went to Fort Ben and did our training. But these are not my thoughts today….these are.

When I was coming home after that run I decided to check my Facebook and Twitter updates, nothing much going on except on post that caught my eye. I have a few friends that are Liberals (I know I am working on them to convert), but none the less they have been great friends to me and we have been through a lot together professionally. But one in particular had this to say on his Facebook “Saturday, Coffee, dog park! Yeah Baby, the weekend. The only thing that could make this better would to have the entire Republican Party getting on a cruise ship and it wanders into North Korean waters and gets torpedoed.” This was the quote folks….now understand I am not going to take this personally and would never hold this against him for saying this, but a little much.

So here are my thoughts, last night I posted this video on how the POTUS was in Virginia telling the “people who messed this up needs to get out of the way so he can fix it”. Well Mr. Community Organizer you have full control of D.C. so organize your party and get this passed, no one is standing in your way, oh wait the only thing I see standing in your way is the American People and the Polls, so who do you work for?

So I ask the Liberal Democrats to quit crying and move on! You are your own worst enemy and you know it. So playing the blame game on the Republican Party and the American People isn’t going to work so just move on and get over yourselves!

And just because I am this nice….I am going to dedicate a Video and Photo for your viewing pleasure! This is Dedicated to the Democrat Party and their minions!!
