Nels Ackerson’s campaign is falling apart

Thursday, August 21st, 2008

Believe it or not, there are a few other Congressional Races going on in Indiana…

Let’s take a look at the race involving my friend and Congressman, Steve Buyer.

You may remember that the slick D.C. Trial Lawyer Nels Ackerson who is running against Steve Buyer in the Fourth District had some problems a few weeks ago with attendance and general apathy about his campaign.

Remember the guy who held a press conference in Zionsville attacking Persian Gulf War Veteran Steve Buyer’s record of support for veterans despite the fact that only a half dozen supporters were in attendance and none of them were press?

Well, he continues to have these problems except this time it is much worse.
A “friend” has recently reported to me that Nels held a press conference on his pledge for government accountability that not only did no press show up but no supporters showed up as well.

Darn, that’s twice. Luck like that don’t come all that often Nels.

I was told that Nels held this press conference in the UAW hall across the street from Allison Transmissions and the only people sitting in the 50 empty chairs in the large union hall was him, former Congressman Andy Jacobs who was going to introduce Nels, three members of Nels’ staff, and an obviously embarrassed Nels Ackerson.

Republican Law Coalition is Having a Fundraiser

Tuesday, August 5th, 2008

This was sent to me, so I thought I would post it.

The RLC is the Republican student group at the Indiana University School of Law - Indianapolis. Our focus is on becoming a dynamic force in central Indiana politics. This golf event is our primary fundraiser and is a great opportunity to network and build relationships with attorneys, judges, law students, elected officials, and other business and community leaders.

The outing is scheduled for Friday, August 8, 2008 and will be held at Maple Creek Country Club, a classic Pete Dye course located on the East side of Indianapolis and featuring a brand new fleet of GPS carts. State Treasurer Richard Mourdock will be the Keynote Speaker for the event and we anticipate the attendance of many other state and local political officeholders and candidates.

MAPLE CREEK COUNTRY CLUB South on Post Road from I-70. Left on 21st St. The course is 1½ miles on the right (west of German Church). FRIDAY, AUGUST 8, 2008 Registration & lunch will begin at 11:00 AM with shotgun start at 12:00 noon. Awards reception and keynote address to follow tournament.

This is No Way to Treat Your Supporters

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

In our current national economy, times are a bit tough and money is tight. The RNC, however, doesn’t think that should keep people from making non-tax deductible donations to them. Now don’t get us wrong. Those of us at Hoosier Access are fans of the RNC, but this is no way to treat your supporters if they haven’t “ponied” up in a while. Friends of the site, Kurt and Kristen Luidhardt, got this letter in the mail recently.

Um, yeah, I’m ready to give. How about you?!
