In one of the toughest choices that has crossed our paths, the Directors of Hoosier Access are taking the bold step to endorse Greg Zoeller as our Republican nominee for Attorney General at this years State GOP Convention.*
We feel that the candidates, both qualified and distinguished in their own rights, are capable of doing the job and would make a good attorney general. But what put Greg Zoeller over the edge for us, was his experience. And in this race, experience matters.
Zoeller serves as the Chief Deputy to current Attorney General Steve Carter (According to recent polling still regarded as the most popular statewide elected official) and has been highly involved, if not responsible for much of the legislation that has come out of the AG’s office over the last eight years including the widely popular “Indiana Do Not Call List” and pursuing absentee voter fraud in Lake County. He has experience working on all levels of government and has worked hand in hand with the Governor’s office to advance the agenda of Mitch Daniels. Previously, Zoeller served as the State Director for Senator Dan Quayle and also went out to Washington, D.C. when Quayle became Vice President in 1989.
It could be easy to get involved in all the hype and hearsay that has been floating around the blogosphere, but when you break it down to the two individuals themselves, Zoeller’s knowledge, leadership and experience of state government and in working with our legislators rings loud and clear.
That is why, the Directors of Hoosier Access resoundingly support Greg Zoeller for Attorney General.

When considering who Hoosier Access* should support and endorse in the 2nd Congressional District, the choice wasn’t hard. Despite the lesser candidates running against him, Luke Puckett has made himself to be the obvious choice through hard work and meeting with the voters, for Republicans in the 2nd CD primary as well as for voters of all types in the November general.
His devotion to his family led him to question whether he should run or not, but with the support of his family and his genuine concern for the people of the 2nd CD led him, in the end to jump into the race against Democrat Joe Donnelly.
Luke’s background as a successful small business owner has given him the ability to truly understand the needs of the people in the 2nd CD as well as give him a better understanding of our complicated tax system and ideas on how to fix it. He supports the Bush Tax Cuts and seeks to make them permanent knowing how they benefit families and businesses of all types and sizes.
His concern for families, especially for those who have a hard time affording health care, has him wanting to work towards lessening the cost while wanting to increase the availability of quality healthcare. Luke also supports a secure border and in Iraq wants to help and support our troops by listening to their commanders on the ground rather than legislating the war from Washington.
In the end, the people of the 2nd Congressional District need someone like Luke Puckett in Washington, who won’t say one thing in the district while doing the opposite in Washington, like so many of our Democrat legislators. They need someone like Luke and this is why Hoosier Access enthusiastically endorses Luke Puckett in his run for Congress. Please check out Luke Puckett’s website here.
*Brian Sikma, who is the Deputy Communications Director for the Puckett campaign, did not participate in our vote on whether or not we should endorse Luke. Nor did Brian nominate him.

(Note - Any one of the Directors can nominate someone for a site endorsement, but it takes a unanimous decision by all of us for approval.)
The Directors of Hoosier Access are proud to announce our very first candidate endorsement. We enthusiastically support and endorse Jim Banks (R – Columbia City) for Whitley County Council. Even though Jim is one our fellow Directors, he was not allowed to participate in our voting.
Jim is a staunch fiscal conservative that will help lead Whitley County into the future knowing that local government needs to keep a check in its spending, especially in light of the recent property tax legislation that was just passed. State Representative Matt Bell has gone on record to say that “Jim Banks will be a great County Councilman and advocate for Whitley County families and businesses. I look forward to working with him to find ways to fight taxes and build a better Whitley County.”
