I received this email today from Jim Holden addressed to IU Alumni.

Dear Conservative and IU Friends,

Do you believe IU needs a change from the same tired old left-wing administrators that have brought us such things as the Gay Culture Center, the Kinsey Institute, harassment of military recruiters, the banning of Christmas trees and handgun ownership in addition to spiraling tuition costs, a politically correct campus environment and a floundering athletic department?

Reading the caption on the photo “Indianapolis Mayor Steve Ballard”. Steve Ballard is (or was considering the number of folks jumping from the sinking ship of the Ryerson Rag) a reporter for the Indianapolis Star. The photo has since been corrected to indicate Greg Ballard as the Mayor of Indianapolis.

It begs to ask the question is there anyone doing any fact checking or proofreading at the Rag? Obviously not. As long as Gannett sells advertising, reporting be damned.

The Office of Corporation Counsel has announced the following last minute polling place changes due to building construction and building flood damage

Voters in precincts 28-4 and 28-5 in Warren Township will now vote at Indianapolis Public School #88, 5801 E. 16th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46218. This change was required due to construction at the Windsor Park Family Center that could have inhibited voting at that location.

Voters in precincts 19-1 and 19-2 in Wayne Township will now vote at Friendship West Side Center, 3131 W. 16th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46222. This change was required due to flooding at the Friendship Baptist Church that prevented the location from being available for the Primary Election.

The areas covered by Ward 28, Precincts 4 and 5 are roughly I-70 & Emerson south to 21st & Emerson on the West, 21st Street to the South, I-70 to the North, and the Eastern edge of the property at the Raytheon facility on the city’s Eastside (Formerly the Naval Avionics Center, or Naval Air Warfare Center) east of the intersection of 21st & Arlington running perpendicular to a point south of I-70’s right of way.

Ward 19, Precincts 1 and 2 are basically the Northern parts of the Haughville neighborhood. It runs from about the SE corner of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway property at 16th & Olin along 16th Street east of Concord St stopping short of King Ave, south to 10th Street and west along 10th Street to 10th & Olin, and north along Olin to the border of the IMS property.

Now see unlike the previous Mayoral Administration that moved around precincts hoping to throw off voters, this Administration announces its polling place changes and we’re here to let you know of the changes. And yes we realize these are mainly Democrat precincts, especially 19-1 and 19-2.

It seems that Diamond Jim Schellinger doesn’t like Jill Long Thompson pointing out that he made his fortune on the backs of Indiana property tax payers.

So his company is threatening to sue her.

Why?

Because her campaign dared to use photos of buildings that he and his firm designed.

Photos.

As if you could be sued by dozens of architects for merely taking pictures of the skyline of New York City; don’t tell the folks that made the intro for Law & Order.

The website Amber Alert describes a Kia as the getaway vehicle, though the alert just broadcast through Comcast cable describes the abductor as driving a stolen Gray Pontiac Montana (which is a mini-van).

It appears the cats are away in 2008 and the ‘Rats are playing. According to an article on Polis Politics, there is still a lack of a quorum at the Federal Election Commission. The lack of a quorum is in part because of parliamentary procedure carried out by … wait for it … BARACK OBAMA! It appears the public financing funds (you know that $3 from your 1040 form every year which I personally check “NO” to…) are held in limbo and Sen. McCain may not have access to those funds without a quorum at the FEC.

Meanwhile Democrat candidates seem free to flaunt federal campaign finance law and no penalty will result, even when presented with clear evidence by hardworking folks like Jacob Perry.

Governor Mitch Daniels has announced his endorsement of incumbent State Representative Mike Murphy (R-District 90) for the May 6th Primary Election.

“Mike Murphy has been a terrific partner in moving Indiana forward. He has shown courage and leadership in helping pass historic property tax cuts and authored the telecommunications legislation that has created thousands of new jobs and attracted several hundred million dollars in investment,” Governor Daniels said. “Please support Mike’s continued leadership in the statehouse.”

State Representative Mike Murphy has represented south-suburban Indianapolis since 1994. He is currently Ranking Minority Member of the House Technology, Research and Development Committee. Mike also serves on the Veterans Affairs and Public Safety, and Government and Regulatory Reform Committees. He is a former member of the Ways and Means, Public Policy, Rules, Labor, Education, Agriculture, and Families and Children Committees.

In a fitting similarity to what appears to be the biggest political crash-and-burn in ages, the once unquestioned Democrat nominee for President has seen her campaign HQ in Terre Haute go up in flames.

The cause is under investigation. Hopefully it wasn’t arson, and no political opponents were involved.
