Below is video of the results being read aloud at the Democrat Caucus yesterday where Andre Carson won the party’s nomination to run in the special election. As the results are read there are audible gasps and as the final tally for Andre is read there is also some audible grumbles. The video was taken by Wilson Allen who has been a Carson loyalist for a seriously long time. Overall, quite interesting.

In case you’re not aware, that video is a parody of this (watch at your own risk…of bursting a gut in laughter).

That was hilarious. Why must Mike Huckabee make it so hard for me to not want to vote for him?
I just finished watching Article VI (I am part of the team marketing the film) and recommend that all Christians, Mormons or anyone else of faith, watch this intriguing film. You can learn more here.
With faith playing an increasing role in the Presidential election, this film seeks to start an important conversation about exactly what our founders had in mind. Let me know what you think.
You can preview the movie trailer below.
(Sorry for the rash of national interest posts here, but it’s what’s making news lately….reminder the General Assembly gets started tomorrow…just in time for the New Hampshire primary)
Yep, just what we want to show our enemies around the world. Maybe she’ll ask the terrorists who wish us dead to just “hug it out“.
Her display reminds me of this (warning - language)
I love that movie.
Happy New Year to all our readers! 2007 was pretty exciting politically here in Indiana, but I have a feeling we haven’t seen anything yet. 2008 is going to be more than exciting with an intense short session in the General Assembly on the horizon, hotly contested gubernatorial and congressional races as well as Greg Ballard’s first year as mayor of Indianapolis. Let’s not forget we also have a Presidential race going on too. So much stuff! It’s going to be a lot of fun and Hoosier Access plans to keep you updated on it all.
Thanks for a great start in 2007. We’re looking to get even better in 2008.

Presidential candidate and only Mormon in the field, Mitt Romney today gave his much anticipated defense for faith. Some have made it out to be his “Kennedy Moment” while others have said he blew it. While I know this is a national issue and not a state or local one, the Presidential primaries are about to start and by the time Indiana’s finally roles around in May, the race for nomination may not yet be decided. So if you didn’t get a chance to see the speech, I’m posting his whole speech as well as the highlights (for those of you who don’t want to sit through the whole thing). Give us your thoughts.

…and after reading this post from Abdul, I was reminded of it.
Here’s looking forward to the first four years of Greg Ballard.

What’s the latest?
U.S. Rep. Julia Carson, D-Ind., has officially requested a medical leave through Dec. 14, according to a statement in the Congressional Record published Friday.
The Indianapolis Democrat, who last voted in the House on Sept. 20, asked for the leave “on account of medical reasons.”
Still being cagey with “medical reasons” argument, I see. That leads me to this number I saw for the first time not too long ago.
