This first year of his Presidency looks like it has taken a toll on him.
So I was reading The Hill this evening and while getting my political junkie fix, this story caught my eyes. Speaker Pelosi says “Americans could absorb increased deficit if it means jobs”.

Americans could be ready to “absorb” increases to the deficit if it means higher employment, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Tuesday.
As the Congress prepares to put together a new spending package focused on creating new jobs in the U.S., the Speaker said that while it’s a “false choice” to pose the situation facing lawmakers as a balance between jobs and increased deficits, Americans would rather have jobs.
“So if somebody has the idea that the percentage of GDP of what our national debt is will go up a bit, but they will now — and their neighbors and their children will — have jobs, I think they could absorb that,” Pelosi said in a conference call with liberal bloggers on Tuesday, audio of which was posted by ThinkProgress.
House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) has said that the lower chamber hopes to move a jobs package by the Christmas holiday recess. Democrats have begun exploring different options for creating jobs, especially as unemployment continues to rise while 2010, an election year for lawmakers, quickly approaches.
Pelosi said deficit growth has been “stunning,” but rejected the idea that a jobs bill would necessarily pose a threat to the deficit.
“We don’t subscribe to the idea that some are for deficit reduction and some are for job creation; we think, again, as I said at the beginning, that’s a false choice,” she said. “We’re never going to decrease the deficit until we create jobs, bring revenue into the Treasury, stimulate the economy so we have growth.”
The Speaker said Democrats must also “shed any weakness” about being confrontational on the issue out of fear that the party would be labeled as insensitive to the deficit.
Pelosi suggested, too, that if lawmakers are reluctant to spend for job creation, similar problems that plagued the U.S. during the Great Depression may strike again.
“If we pull our punch, as they did in the mid-’30s, we shouldn’t be surprised if history repeats itself,” she explained.
“It’s a very important debate for us to have in this country, and I would hope that the president’s speech would be a balance between job creation and sensitive to deficit reduction,” Pelosi added. “But I think if anybody is asked in the public, ‘Would you rather have a job or a percentage of GDP or our national debt will go up a little bit?,’ I think everybody wants a job.”
Let’s look at this a minute shall we? Pelosi has offered different packages none of which did nothing to stimulate the economy, but only created more government and more debt. The last stimulus package hasn’t accomplished anything, save for creating jobs and allocating money to over 400 non-existent congressional districts, and now she wants Stimulus Package Part 2 “The Quest for More Money”. The House passed “Health Care Reform” which, if signed into law, will cause nothing but more government and red tape including the creation or expansion of over 130 agencies. Yeah, because this is what the people want!
Ok….This Administration needs to get a clue! Because someone may or may not agree with you…you attack them and try to block them? It is not Presidential and actually childish if you want my opinion. Kind of “I’m going to take my ball and go home” mentality. Maybe it wouldn’t hurt to for this Admin to read books on Leadership and maybe just maybe read some books on what happens when you try to argue with those who buy ink by the barrel.
I am so sick and tired of the Democrats pushing blame to the Republicans and Fox News for their failures, do they honestly think the American People are that stupid?? When you have control of both the House and Senate and you cannot get something passed, I have a reason to believe it is a lack of leadership skills.
I have to give the other networks a hand…they refused to interview the Pay Czar if Fox News wasn’t invited and well the White House invited Fox into the interview.
When this President promised an open and transparent Government here, here and here. He has broken all of these promises, did he think we would forgot? I even have friends who are strong supporters of Obama and the Democrats shaking their heads about this and other issues that this Admin and Democrat controlled Congress has done. When some Democrats and their supporters are so blind to the issues then they need a wake up call.

So our economy is not in good shape, were in a War, and we are debating Health Care reform and they are talking about another Stimulus package.
So then this comes out…. we are worried about the Volume of our Commercials? That is correct folks the Government is worried about the volume of our commercials while we watch T.V…….just when I thought I have seen it all……..

House lawmakers want the Federal Communications Commission to help bring down the volume of television commercials.
The House Subcommittee on Communications, Technology and the Internet on Thursday approved a bill that would prohibit television commercials from being excessively loud. The FCC would be required to come up with recommended volume levels for commercials. Broadcasters, TV stations and cable and satellite providers would then have one year to purchase the necessary equipment to temper noisy ads.
“All of us have had the experience of enjoying a favorite program only to find ourselves scrambling for the remote control at the commercial break,” said Rep. Rick Boucher (D-Va.), chairman of the subcommittee.
The bill, sponsored by Rep. Anna Eshoo (D-Calif.), includes waivers for smaller stations and programming operators that can show they cannot afford the equipment. Some Republican members of the panel, including ranking member Cliff Stearns of Florida, say it is difficult to regulate volumes, since commercials are produced by a number of studios and companies that use different technologies and volume standards.
“Shows and movies have a dynamic sound range to cover everything from a quiet scene to an explosion,” he said. “Commercials, meanwhile, tend to have a narrow sound range. Volume levels are typically set for the programming, which can throw off the volume levels for commercials.”
It was one of four bills the panel moved easily by voice vote in less than an hour.
The committee also approved a bill that would make it illegal for telephone fraudsters to misrepresent their identities on caller ID functions.
A third bill, introduced by Rep. Mike Doyle (D-Pa.) and Rep. Lee Terry (R-Neb.), amends existing laws to allow new low-power radio stations to operate within a closer range of full-power stations. Currently, low-power stations are restricted from operating too close to a full-power station due to interference concerns. As a result, there are few low-power stations to provide local content to listeners.
The final bill approved by the panel would extend by two years access to federal grants for public safety agencies to deploy interoperable communications systems. This is intended to give first responders more time to comply with the grant program requirements.
The government is currently authorized to grant up to $1 billion to public safety agencies by Sept. 30, 2010.
Ok…I am not going to sugar coat this, this is sick and disturbing. When folks start basically praying to Obama, that is when this is out of total control! Listen folks, he cannot save you and he cannot save the world. Here is a tip for you…He is a Politician…not the messiah!

Pirates have been in the news for capturing a number of ships lately. And from the stories reported, these are not the kind of pirates we saw growing up watching Peter Pan or your great great great great grandfathers kinds of pirates.
